The carriage pull up to the castle. Nathan looked out the window, smiling.
"Wow" Mark helped him out of the carriage, walking him to the open palace door.
"Have fun, be free for this night. " Mark smiled.
"Why don't you and Jack come in? I'm sure it would be okay. " Mark shook his head, looking back.
"Someone has to watch the carriage. Plus jack and I can occupy ourselves. We did it as animals. " Nathan laughed softly and hugged Mark. He walked in to the palace, and looked around the large hallway as he made his way to the ballroom. He was stopped by a man with paper in his hand.
"Good evening sir, I'll need a name to announce your arrival " Nathan bit his lip, contemplating a name. He thought of a quick name, looking at the gentleman with a kind smile.
"N. Sharp. "
The last name was that of his Mothers before the marriage. He always loved that name.

Matthew sighed and put on a fake smile as he greeted another pair of guests. He looked at his mother and he saw her frown.
"What is it mother?"
"Matt, sweetie. You only danced with one person this evening. Can't you find one person you want to dance with?" Matthew sighed and looked at his mother.
"We still have three hours, maybe a miracle will happen..." He sat on his throne next to his mother. He watched the guest dance around to a happy tune the orchestra played. He looked up at the entrance when a new name was called.
"Announcing the arrival of N. Sharp" the man that walked in was beautiful, he had a light blush on his face as people looked at him. The suit looked beautiful, only royalty could own such clothing. Matthew stood up, making his way down the stairs. The people on the ballroom floor made room for the two so they could meet. The boy smiled up at him, bowing slightly.
"Your highness" Matthew took the boys gloved hand into his own, smiling down at him.
"May I have the honor of dancing with you?" He brought the hand up to his lips, placing a kiss on material. The blush on the boys face increased and he nodded. The orchestra took that as a cue, playing a waltz. The two stated to move across the floor, like it was a second nature to them. The people around them were staring, all smiling at the two. All but three.
--
"Mother, who is that man? He took away our chance to see the prince!" Emily whined quietly to her mother, stomping her foot.
"Emily, calm down. He is just dancing, we still have many hours till the ball ends, patients my dears. " Lisa said softly. She looked at the boy, trying to figure out where she has seen this man. He almost seems familiar. And that name, she's only heard it once. But there is no way it could be the person she's thinking. She just ignored the feeling.
--
The two ended the dance, Nate realized that people are staring.
"Are, are they looking at us?" Nate said, with a blush. God, he needs to stop.
"I believe they are staring at you. " Matthew said, taking the boys hand in his.
"No, they're all looking at you. "
Nate looked around at the people, who began to smile at him, and clap for the lovely performance they saw.
"Come, I want to take you somewhere, get to know you in private. I'm not really a fan of big crowds" Matthew led the boy out the big doors, leading to the garden.
"I have a place I usually go to clear my head when I'm not aloud outside of the castle grounds" he said as he went up to a big bush, pulling across leaves that led to a secret garden.
"Wow" Nathan said softly, looking around. He saw a tree with a swing on it and smiled.
"I used to have one of those in front of my house as a child. My mother used to push me on it" he made eye contact with Matthew who chuckled.
"My father created this space when I was a child. It made me forget for a while. But, I haven't come here a lot recently. I'm the only one who knows it, and now you. " Matthew said, sitting on the bench near by.
"Sit with me?" Nathan sat down and looked at his new friend.
"so where do you come from? " Nathan bit his lip, not wanting to reveal where exactly he lived. So he described where he lived, giving now detail
"I'm from this village. But on the outskirts. The small community with houses spaced out far from eachother. " Matthew nodded.
"This suit is beautiful. It must of taken a lot of work and money" Nathan just shook his head.
"Let's just say it took some magic..."
the two talked for a long time, Nathan started realizing he was falling for the prince. He just had to shake this feeling, he would never see him again after this night. He doesn't even remember him from the hills, he's unrecognizable due to the spell. He didn't want to get hurt over someone he has no chance over.
Matthew looked over the mysterious boys face and smiled, chuckling softly.
"What?" Nathan said, tilting his head in confusion.
"You know, I would never do a thing like this normally. But, it feels like I should" Nathan still didn't understand what he meant until he was pulled into a soft, loving kiss. After the shock wore off, Nathan placed his hands on the princes shoulders, smiling into the kiss. The prince pulled back, looking Nathan in the eyes.
"May I ask, what the N stands for, N.Sharp?" Matthew said softly, pressing his forehead against Nathan's, wrapping his arms around the smaller boys waist. Nathan opened his mouth to tell the truth of his name.
When he heard the clock strike, twelve times.
Oh no.
