Joey's POV
I can't sleep and there's no point in trying. I look at Ari's peaceful face and sigh. All the usual lines of stress and hatred faded. I wonder how long I have before they form again...
Ariana's POV
I wake up and I feel weight on me. I look to see Joey's arms around me and immediately frown.
I shove him off me and sit up. The wedding. I rub my eyes and they sting from the makeup not being removed. I don't know why I let Joey get intimate with me that way. Thats not how it works. And the fact that he rejected me but still slept with me- and not in that way- irritates me.
I get up to go make breakfast for myself and Joey follows me not long after.
"Anything for me?" He asks as I sit down with a plate full of eggs.
"No." I say shortly. He pulls up a chair and sits down.
"Ok, we're not doing this." I say, standing up.
Joey looks at me like a sad puppy. "Doing what?"
"The couple thing."
"We are not a couple." Joey says standing up too.
"Agreed. Get out." I say pointing my fork towards the door after shoving a scalding bite into my mouth.
Joey doesn't say a word as he silently moves towards the door still wearing the same clothes he wore when we met.
I finish my eggs in silence.
Joey's POV
I stand there at the door and I wonder how long I have before Ariana turns around and notices I haven't left.
I can't leave, really. I have no ride.
The sound of a fork moving on a plate stops.
Craaaaappp.
Ariana stands up and screams when she sees me standing there.
"Joey!"
"I don't have a ride!"
Ariana screams in frustration as she dissapears into her room.
I start to lose hope when she finally reappears in a grey sweatshirt and black leggings.
She snatches her keys off a coffee table and leaves gesturing for me to follow.
"Where do you live?" Ari asks as she grips the wheel.
I tell her and the whole ride there is silent.
I finally get to my parents house and I'm about to get out with no goodbyes when my mother rushes out of the house.
Ariana's POV
A women with a kitchen apron and short blonde hair comes running out of the house Joey claimed to be his.
"I thought this was your house," I hissed.
"It was. I'm going to college next year," he says back as the women gets to the car.
"Hey mom," Joey says weakly.
"Where have you been?! I've been worried sick!" she frantically checks for what I'm assuming bullet holes.
I didn't sign up for this.
"Get out of the car Joey so I can leave," I say.
"Well who is this?' The mom looks at my red hair that's turning brown again and my makeup that's running down my face from all the crying.
"Ariana..." Joey finally says after 8 full seconds of me staring down this bitch.
"She must stay for dinner," she fake smiles.
"No way in hell. Bye Joey." I start up the car.
"Such nice manners I see," she doesn't bother to fake smile.
"Please, you really must come in," she continues.
"Mom-"
"Okay," I cut Joey off. "I'll come inside," I get out of the car.
This should be interesting.
