Why is it when you don't want to think about something, it's always on your mind?
Well that was what was happening to me right now. Treasure was all I could think about. Even though I know he didn't truly love me the way I loved him. He only wanted me for my body, my money, but never was it for me. I first noticed it when we were on a road trip to the beach. We had dinner like any other couple would, but not like an ordinary couple, I had to pay for the bill. It was no problem. He just didn't have the money.
Or so I thought. I had work on the night shifts that week. Slow day so not so many customers came in. My shift wasn't nearly over, but the store was closing soon and my boss told me to go ahead and go home.
To my surprise when I got home to cuddle up with my man, did I find another girl in the bed with him. And it sounded like to me that they were having the time of there lives.
"knock, knock" I slumped against the door frame. Waited for him to look up. But they were so different their own world that that they didn't even hear me at the door." hmm hmm". I cleared my throat loudly. I sounded pretty huffy.
They looked up with confused expressions. I turned on the light.
" It's raining outside, I knocked on the front door twice, rang the door bell, which by the way no one answered! And to top it all off I come in here and see you enjoying yourself in my bed with another girl!" For quite a few times this year I was crying once again. Not out of sadness, out of anger.
" Oh shit! Babe I didn't know you were coming home early today." The girl scrambled off of him and frantically put back on her clothes.
" Am I still getting my money?" She didn't have the slightest hint of embarrassment in her voice.
" Oh, here Stacy." He handed over a heap of money.
"What the Fuck!!! You even remembered it's name!!" I scoffed.
As she was walking out of the room I snatched up a chunk of her hair clutched into my fist and carefully chose my words when speaking to her. " DON'T EVER COME BACK HERE. IF YOU DO THEN I WILL KILL YOU. All of you sluts are the same. Come here for the money no matter what it costs. Get out of my house, and do it fast." I let go. She ran down the stairs so fast she could have been in the geniuses worlds record book.
" Jennifer I'm so sorry OK baby. I was lo-"
" I don't care. Get up, get out of my house, and get out of my life!" I was so angry. I had the feeling to hit something. Someone. But I didn't I was grown and he wasn't. Apparently. " You got some nerve coming up in my house with another girl."
" Babe!" He was still in the bed. Covers wrapped around his waist and knotted into a big ball.
" Don't babe my. You don't deserve to ever call me that again." My eye brows arched in a way when people saw it they thought it would stick.
" Don't jump to conclus-"
I picked up one of my son's balls and hurled it at his face. Missing horribly I closed the door behind me. " There is no need to jump conclusions. What I've seen is as perfect the evidence as Sherlock doing n investigation. I stepped right into the crime scene, while it was happening as a matter of fact!" My hands were now trembling vigorously.
" If that's what you want then I will leave. But I wont get out pf your life. Just know that now.........."
But hey that was some years ago. I'm not usually the type to hold grudges against people.
I sat there legs crossed. A hand slammed down on my shoulder from behind; I cried out and spun around to see Angelina staring past me at the bushes ahead.
A man popped up from the bushes. Leaves falling in every direction.
" Carlos, what did I tell you about the girl. While you were out there playing Samaria. Since you can't handle her I will just ge-"
"I can take care of her!" He blurted out. He walked over here and blushed when he saw me looking at him. He holding his hand to help me up.
"Thanks," I said grabbing onto it. " where are we going next?" I looked over at Angel.
" No where. From my navigational readings the enemy is searching for us. When I say us I mean you." She didn't wait for me to respond; she put a hand o my shoulder and led to a clear area. " You will set up everybody's tent. "
" What about all of the other people out there!"
" Keep your voice down or they will kill you as well as us" She spat. " I will send someone out there if they aren't here by sunset." She hissed while typing something on her wrist. " I sent out transmitters to the other so they will know when we are. You have no need to stay up and wait for their arrival. You go on to sleep, tell me if you need something."
This was not the same girl I had met in the cave. This one was more bite than bark. Then again, that girl even seemed scary.
I walked to my tent. It was freezing outside. Rain was still drizzling down hitting the tops of our tents. It's been 20 minutes and they still aren't here. Now this was the time I was starting to get worried. They were suppose to be here 10 minutes ago. At the most.
I crawled out of my tent. Each one looked totally the same. But which one was Angel in?
I spotted her shadow moving about in one and figured she had business to do. Before walking back to mine I heard a snap in the far distance south of us.
" Hello?" I whispered in a groggy voice. " Who's there?" It was little over the silent level. And I must have been heard because Angelina came running out.
"Who are you talking to?" She had exactly no expression pasted on her face. Her voice was mellow.
" Nobody I gue-"
A bunny hopped out of the bushes and almost plopped right on top of me. Angel snatched it by the throat. and held it in the air."Aye, I found breakfast for tomorrow."
" Angel! Let it go, it's just a little bunny rabbit." Her throat nearly gave out from her loud outburst.
"If you don't shut up we're going to be just as dead." She snarled the last word like she was disgusted it even existed.
Is this girl always like this? I still can't control this stupid mind reading thing! wish I could just turn it off, and run away from the world.
" No, I'm not!" I stormed away with a tear threatening to break my last shield of defense.
I'm not crying over the bunny. OK, maybe I am. It doesn't deserve to die. But, knowing her she's going to kill it.
feeling tired, I walked back to my tent and sunk down into the aired softness of my bag.
