For once I was having a perfectly normal and crappy morning. I moaned as my little brother whacked me on the back. "Brody..." I moaned. "If you do not leave this room I will use my Godly powers to smite you." He ran out of my room giggling, very much pleased with his work. I rolled myself over so that I was facing my ceiling. "Uggggghhhhh..." I moaned. Every single day it was the same thing. Suffer Brody, suffer getting up, suffer almost falling down the stairs from loss of balance. Oh, and we can't forget, suffer going to work. At Justice United. Obviously this wasn't a paying job...but why would I need one? We made our own food right there. Sure, we had to buy meat sometimes but...usually I was not the one paying for it. I rolled out of bed and flopped onto the floor. I snapped my fingers and I was levitated onto my feet. I got dressed and grabbed my wristwatch. It wasn't a normal watch though. It was my way of communicating with everyone. <No. It's not an Apple Watch>I looked on the screen. One message read. "Hey sleepyhead! Wake up! Get down here quick!" Dan had texted me. Whatever he was talking about sounded important. So I decided to go. I walked downstairs. It was Saturday so everyone else was sleeping. I left a note saying I went to the cave and I put it on the side of the fridge as I drank my coffee. Mmm...non-wallet draining coffee. My favourite thing to do to avoid draining money at Starbucks. I slid into my shoes and walked out the door to walk to the cave. It was nearing the end of fall and slowly getting colder, yet the air was warm with only a gentle with cool breeze passing through every now and then. I made it too the cave and entered. Only Guardians and people who are with them were able to enter. The cave was busy even though it was still 10:00am on a Saturday. People running from place to place and lesson to lesson. I tried again to rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, with no success. I walked towards the "main office". It was kinda like the headmaster's office, except it looked like what you'd expect a 15 year old's room to look like. Messy. I got a few looks. Most of the new kids were staring at me. You see this organization works like this. You kinda...fight your way up the ranks. If you can beat someone in a one verses one fight, your rank increases by half the amount that the loser had, and the loser loses half their rank in return. The First Guardian Squadron members are the highest in the ranks. If you get high enough in the ranks to join them, then you are seen as one of the leaders. You get your own personal team if you wish.(The First Guardians were actually my personal team.) Usually some stupid new kid tried to challenge me. Of course nobody had defeated me or any of the other First Guardians yet. My ability to control time had no known weaknesses so far. Luckily, no one had challenged me before I had got to the office. I opened up the door. "Alright Dan, what's going on?" I said lazily. Then I took in the room. Right in front of me stood a familiar face. Dan walked into the office. "Oh!" I heard him say behind me. "About time you got here!"
"What are you doing here?" I said to the boy my age who was standing in front of me and ignoring Dan.
"What are you doing here?" He asked back.
"I'm the leader."
"I'm the new guy."
I smiled. "Good. What's your power, Michael?" Michael was a very good friend of mine. Like most of my friends he didn't go to my high-school.
"Um...Logan?" Dan said uncomfortably. "That's why I called you down..."
I finally gave Dan my attention.
"His power..." he said. "Is Light."
