PROLOGUE:
Did you know that Kimiko loved Autumn?
She really did.
It was her favourite season because the leaves that prospered all around them turned into copper browns and rusty reds and they were always beautiful to look at. She loved hearing the soft crunch of them under her sandal-clad feet when she walked around her beloved village. It signified a new beginning in her eyes. New leaves would bud and make way for the next generation.

Kimiko was a kunoichi of Konohagakure
Was.
As a prodigy of her generation of shinobi, she was renowned in the ninja world. Her prowess rivalled that of Hatake Kakashi who was a year her senior and also a classmate and friend.
But now, things were different.
Branded a traitor with constant ANBU groups lurking around every corner, Kimiko was considered an enemy of her own village and her own friend was sent out to extinguish her light. To eradicate her existence from the very Earth on which she stood.
For what?
For fighting one of the most prestigious clans in her village: the Masuma Clan.
Her clan, her family. She went against the patriarch; her own father's orders and she won the battle.
For her own safety, Kimiko defected from the village per her father's request and against the Sandaime's wishes, she was branded a traitor to be executed on sight and listed in the Bingo Book as a high priority that paid extremely well. Well enough to fund a small country out of debt and well into fruition once again.
A leaf fell.
It was withered, floating to the ground as the branch it was clinging to, freed itself the stubborn stem and the dead leaf discarded on the ground.
She knew that if it was stepped on, it would crumble into nothing.
Her once vibrant green colour turned into a bright rusted orange; while a beautiful colour in its own right, it signified her end.
