AN: Hi you guys! I want to just shout out to memesannin, for helping me with this story. I appreciate your help, you're an awesome sister. Also, I'm apologizing for adding an author's note. I try to keep stuff like that minimal. Anyways, read on!

"What was Commie's deal?" Arthur asked snarkily.
"You are, Arthur. Your giant eyebrows scared the big guy away. I thought he would be a fearless brute.. I guess not." Francis retorted, though seeming interested in Ivan in a less rude way. Amelia rolled her eyes.
"You're right, Francis. Arthur did scare him away. But it wasn't because he's a wuss, it's because Arthur's a jerk." She glared at her childhood friend. She thought of him as an older brother, but his attitude lately has been getting on her nerves. Every time she tries to make a new friend, he goes and ruins it for her (lol it's because all the people you want to be friends with are doods). Today was no exception.
"It's okay, just try talking to him after school!" Feliciana recommended.
Feli's girlfriend sets a hand on Amelia's shoulder. "I'm sorry Big Brows keeps you from making any friends.." Monica tries to be empathetic towards her friend, her stern expression melting away into a caring one.
"It's okay, Monica. You and Feli are the best." She smiles happily at them, grateful for supportive friends like them. "Though I think I might have said something to upset Braginsky, so when I go find him after school I'll apologize and get this situation straightened out." She said determinedly.
Amelia felt bad for scaring him off. He was so mysterious, it made her want to know more about him. She didn't know why she felt obligated to get to know the odd boy, but she thought he needed a friend. And she would be that friend. She promised herself she would be his friend. She would be a hero!!
The bell rang, dismissing them to fifth period. She walked into math, but couldn't focus. The only thing on her mind was how she would apologize to Ivan.

By seventh period, Ivan was in a better mood. But when Mr. E pointed out where he was to sit, he nearly fainted. He gripped his chest as if he'd been struck, feeling a sharp pain. There was a flabbergasted look on his face.
"You saiD it WAs a fEW chAirs!!" He exclaimed. Everyone in the orchestra was surprised as well. Either because they forgot he was even in the class, thought he was in there just for his highschool credits, or some other similar reason.
One person who was especially upset about this was the former concertmaster, Lukas Bondevik, who now sits fourth chair. He looked like he wanted Ivan's head on a silver platter.
Other than the fact that Ivan could add yet another person to the list of people who hate him, the rest of the period went smoothly. When they were dismissed, Ivan packed his instrument and walked over to the courtyard to wait for his sister to pick him up. He had his earbuds in, hoping nothing else would happen to him for the rest of the day.
He felt a tap on his shoulder, and turned around to see her. Why wouldn't she just leave him alone??
Amelia pulled an earbud out of his ear, "Hey, um.. I wanted to apologize for lunch today..." She looked at her feet, her hands fidgeting behind her back.
Ivan's head tilted slightly, "...You're being sincere, yes?" He asked.
Amelia seemed a bit offended, but answered gently, "Yeah, I am, and I was serious at lunch and first period as well. I'm sorry for my friends' behavior at the lunch table. And if me, or anyone else said something to upset you, I'm sorry for that as well.." She looked him in the eyes, searching for forgiveness (but instead found how dark and soulless he was lol).
Ivan was dumbfounded. He couldn't wipe the surprised look off his face. "I-uh, I forgive you. You didn't really say anything that upset me, it's just that, erm.. Well, I've never really had someone willingly try to befriend me. It made me feel very confused, especially since you sort of are one of the most popular girls in the grade." He trailed off.
"You really think? Hehe... I just thought I had a lot of friends, was all." She was so flattered! Popular? Annoying Amelia, popular? She took it as a compliment. "Thanks..." She smiled at him, and sat next to him. "...Say, Braginsky. How would you like it if I became your friend?"
Ivan's face immediately lit up like a Christmas tree. "Really? Pinch me, I must be dreaming." He joked. "I'd like that a lot, Jones." He addressed her, smiling widely.
"Good, because I wasn't going to give you a choice." She laughed that laugh of hers. Ivan loved that sound, but he didn't know that yet. He didn't know her voice was his favorite instrument, that every word she spoke was a lyric, and every conversation they shared was a phrase.
He didn't know their relationship was going to be a song, dynamics constantly changing and moods shifting. Their newfound friendship was a symphony being composed by the two of them, but Ivan couldn't hear it yet.
