Quick AN: In the chapters when Ivan is at home and there are no guests, they are speaking Russian. Just wanted to paint you the picture, continue reading!

Ivan didn't go to school Friday. His mom noticed that he looked sick, so she was going to keep an eye on him.

Ivan was sitting up in his bed, his mom babying him before she would leave for work.

"But Mom," Ivan whined.

She sighed, "Dearest, you looked whiter than paper yesterday, and you look like you haven't slept in a year." She set a few pills down on his dresser, along with a cup of water. "You can take the day off just this one time, okay?" She felt his head with the back of her hand, and shook her head. "No fever..."

"...Fine, as long as you stop treating me like I'm two." He joked. But he tried to persuade her into letting him go to school once more. "..I don't feel sick or tired though Mom. What happened yesterday just stressed me out." He tried to play it off like it was nothing, but in doing that he would let something happen that would not be good.

"Whatever you say, macho. Your dad is outside fixing the tire. Just holler if you need anything and I'm sure he'll help. Bye." Anya pecked her son's forehead, and left him in his room.

Ivan fell back down on the bed, and went back to sleep. He needed it.

Amelia was too distracted to work in English. She didn't want to think about the possibilities that Ivan may not have ever made it home last night. She also thought she heard something suspicious outside, but it might have been her imagination.

She wondered why he wasn't at school today. Could he have maybe caught something? Maybe he had a doctor's or dentist appointment? She only hoped he made it back to his house after he dropped her off...

She felt bad about it, because Ivan was only misunderstood. He was so nice, and he came from a nice family. What was it that got him such a bad rep?

"Hey, Amelia?" Arthur tapped her shoulder. She snapped out of her thoughts and turned so she could face him. "Yeah?" She asked, sounding a bit distant.

"What's wrong?" Arthur sat in the empty desk next to her.

Amelia took a moment to answer,"Nothing, it's just my partner isn't here today. He probably is just sick... I'm not worried about it though, I don't know him well enough yet."

One thing to know about Amelia; she can be manipulative, and a pretty good liar. She hides these traits behind her oblivious, charming personality. It doesn't mean she isn't nice, though. At that very moment, she wasn't using this to her advantage. She wouldn't act like this in front of Arthur either, because he was like family.

But right now she just lowkey fibbed to Arthur. And he ate it up. In fact, it seemed he genuinely didn't like Ivan at all, and wouldn't care if he disappeared off the face of the earth. It made her mad.

"It's cool.. I wouldn't try to get to know him, if I were you. He seems sketchy." He said with distaste.

Amelia merely shook her head. "Eh, he's just hard to read." She shrugged.

Arthur knew she went with him somewhere yesterday, because she wasn't at the carloop yesterday to get a ride... He didn't know if he really was okay with her hanging out with him. He wanted to scold her for spending time with Ivan. Obviously because it posed a threat to his chance of dating her, but also because he just hates that damn Vanilla Asian.

They pretty much talked the rest of the period away, Amelia still wondering what happened the night before.

She wouldn't admit it, but fear and worry was eating her up on the inside.
