Poppy:

3 months later....

Me and Branch sat together with our new baby. We were happy, and that's all that mattered now. For we had to be happy and keep our heads high, even though Branch's color still didn't come back. I don't know why, because he was happy now. We had sung together that day we were in the pot, and we were happy! We still should be! So why isn't he?

I watched him, him and his frown, as he crunched his cereal.

"Branch?" I asked, shoving a spoonful of mashed peas into my baby's mouth.

"Hm?" Branch muttered with a mouthful of cereal.

I gave him a big smile. "You okay?"

"Fine," he mumbled with still a frown.

"A.. are you not happy we have a baby?" I asked sadly.

"What?! Of course I am!" He said with a fake smile plastered across his dark face. "I'm just.... I don't know......, jealous? No. I'm... I'm angry."

"At who?"

"Creek....." Branch whisper-yelled.

"Oh, Branch," I said with another spoonful peas into Vivi's mouth. "You can't worry about that stuff anymore. Everything's okay."

"I guess you're right," Branch said finally. But his color still didn't come back.

Reader's POV:

It was late at night, not a noise to be heard; silence, beautiful silence.  Violet slept peacefully in her crib, and Branch and Poppy slept in a bed beside her.

Crash.

A window was busted open, but the family couldn't hear it over the loud sound machine that they had.

A figure crept through the window and tiptoed up the steps. He creeped open the door and spotted the baby. He smirked and rushed into the room, grabbing the baby. It's cries rose over the machine, and Branch and Poppy quickly rose up. The watched as a figure holding their precious baby slipped out of the room.

"It's got Violet!" Branch shouted, running out of the bed along with Poppy.

Poppy grabbed onto the figure, the black coat quickly ripped off and purple colors were revealed.

"Creek?!?" Poppy screamed, stumbling towards him.

Creek reached the door and smiled at the couple, pathetically trying to get to him. "Sorry it had to be this way, Poppy." Was all he said before he was gone.

Poppy and Branch ran into the cold wilderness, they shivered and grabbed onto each other. Poppy broke down in tears as snow fell on her pale cheeks.

"Violet!" She shouted, though it couldn't be heard over the blowing winds.

"Please come home...." she whispered before falling to the frozen ground and crying. Her color slowly started to fade away.

Branch lifted her into his arms and held her gently. "Shhh, go back inside. I'll find her."

"Branch, we can't leave her! Take me with you!" Poppy muttered through frozen lips whispers.

"Let's go to your dad, he will help us." Branch said.

"No! There's no time! She could be dead by now!"

"She's not!"

"You don't know that, Branch!" Poppy mumbled and fell out of his arms, she began to crawl towards the woods but the wind got the best of her and soon she collapsed.

Branch ran to her and picked her up, he carried the weight back home and sat her down on the couch with a blanket and hot chocolate. She wasn't awake yet, but she would be soon.

And Branch would just sit with her.
Until she woke up.
So she wouldn't be sad.
So they would be sad,

Together.
