It was early in the morning. 3:47 to be exact. Viktor was always the type to stay up late working on art. This time, he wasn't working on anything. He was simply enjoying the company of a friend.
"How's the painting going, Viktor?" Viktor's close friend Aiden asked as he sipped on a glass of wine Viktor gave him.
"To be honest, I don't think I can keep it up for much longer." Viktor admitted. "It seems these days I don't have any inspiration or reasons to paint."
Recently Viktor had been given awards and prizes for his art works but now he would sit and try to paint, only to end up with a painting he's already done.
"That's unlike you. Usually you always have something to say with your art." Aiden said before a long pause. "Maybe you need a change of environment. Travel a little bit."
Viktor thought about it for a little while. It wasn't a bad idea. It was entirely possible that Viktor just needed a change in environment. He had enough money to travel to at least a few different countries.
"Maybe you're right." Viktor said.
~ Time Skip ~
Months later Viktor arrived in Hasetsu, Japan. Aiden told him he had been there before and it was one of the most beautiful places he had ever been. Viktor got a room at an inn, paying them upfront for four months. This was the only place in Hasetsu that would allow pets and he couldn't just leave his dog, Maccachin, behind.
He settled in, unpacked his things, and grabbed his bag of pencils and sketch book before heading out to find something to draw. There was beautiful cherry blossoms near the inn but they weren't anything special so he decided to keep walking around Hasetsu.
He had been out for hours and hadn't put his pencil to work once.
"Damn..." He cursed at himself as he noticed how dark it was getting.
He walked back to the inn, without inspiration or a new painting.
Viktor got back to his room and roughly laid down on his bed. A sinking feeling set in as he realized his career was crumbling before his eyes.
