(Yurio's p.o.v)
I woke up early, like usual, to go on a jog. I listened to angry music while giving any passing person a disgusted look. When I got back I went to Viktor's room to see if he was awake. Not because I care about him and want to spend time with him or anything, just because I wanted to make fun of him for his obvious crush on Yuri. He wasn't there though. I frowned as I went to Yuri's room instead. I knocked, with no answer.
"They're probably on a date or something." I said sadly as I walked back to my room.
I rolled over in my bed repeatedly and scrolled through my social media before I did a few sketches of a boy with long silver hair. I grew bored and lonely quite quickly.
"Damn pig. They could've taken me." I pouted. "I was supposed to learn to paint better but that Japanese pig took Viktor away."
I sat with an angry look on my face as I thought about things to do, alone.
"Fuck it." I said as I stood up and grabbed my jacket.
I walked out and went to the park we were at the day before. I walked around, looking at trees and such. I kept seeing couples kiss and hold hands, which made me feel sick so I went to a nearby outdoor market. I looked around at the many booths, glad to see no couples in sight. I was looking at a food booth when a shirt caught my eye. It was black and had a tiger on the front.
"Oh my god." I said with wide eyes and an open mouth. "Such beautiful fashion."
I looked around and saw someone probably a few years older than me looking at me with unamused eyes.
"What are you looking at, asshole?" I said as I glared at him. He went on his way, moving to the booth to the right. I paid for the shirt and smiled at how beautiful it was. I felt my stomach start to feel empty so I walked to a restaurant, where I spotted the guy who stared at me earlier. I glared at him as I ordered my food and sat down. He walked over to me not long after.
"You're Yuri Plisetsky, right?" He asked with the same straight face. I didn't notice it from far away, but he was actually really good looking.
"Yeah. Can I help you?" I said with a scoff.
"You probably won't remember me. I'm Otabek. We were in an art training camp together five years ago." He said to me as he ran his fingers through his hair. "I was the only animator there so I was kind of looked down on. Everyone else had elegant and detailed art while I drew cartoons."
"Oh, really?" I said as I motioned for him to sit across from me.
"I looked up to you a lot. Yuri Plisetsky had the eyes of a soldier. My art style changed dramatically because of your inspiration." He went on, looking down at the table with a small smile.
"That was back when my art was still smooth. It's different now. I lost that smooth touch that I had because nowadays my main emotion is anger." I said quietly. "To be honest, I don't really want to do art like this anymore. It seems like I'm just doing it because it's all I know."
Otabek looked at me with wide eyes, as if he was surprised.
"You're not quitting art, are you?" He asked, almost scared sounding.
"No, that's not it. I love art. It's all I ever want to do. I just think maybe doing something other than the classical paintings I usually do might be more... Me." I said softly.
I was never the kind of person to like art like the ones I made. I was forced into it as a young age, since I was good at it.
"Maybe we could... Do animation together." Otabek suggested quietly. "I could teach you. We can be partners."
I smiled at the thought. Even though I had just met Otabek, I would like to be his partner.
"That sounds like a plan." I smiled as I held my hand out for him to shake. He shook it with a smile.(A.N.)
Yes yes, this chapter is short and different from the others because it's in Yurio's p.o.v. I thought it would be nice to show where Yurio was while Viktor and Yuri were on their date (and I also wanted to start writing about Otabek and Yurio too, oops.) Anyways, the next chapter will be back to usual.
