Rose's POV
I woke up to the sound of sirens. Ollie! Mom! I quickly got out of bed. I ran to Ollie's room. He was sound asleep. I checked the clock. It was 2:00 am. I wonder what happened I think. I ran to my mothers room. She wasn't there. I ran outside. There she was. Talking to the police officer.
"Officer we need to get the patrol officers out towards the border! The humans are getting in! It's affecting are air!!! You need to--"My mother shouted to the officer. I didn't get the rest of her sentence. One of the officers shuffled me back inside. What was going on!? No time for questions now. I was so tired of thinking about the world ending! I walked to my room and went to bed.

The next morning I awoke to Ollie throwing dry beans at me.
"Ollie!" I yelled. Ugh why would he do that! Those beans hurt. Ollie giggled loudly.
"Shhh. Don't wake mom." I warned him. I was pretty sure that mom was still fast asleep. She was up real late last night talking to the officer. I brushed the thin layer of fur on Ollie's ears. His elf ears were very long for a six year old boy. I carried Ollie downstairs and fed him a bowl of his favorite cereal. Lucky Chunks. Basically chunks of sugar. He happily ate his sugar. While he ate I went up to moms room. She wasn't there! I searched the whole perimeter of the house. She would never leave the house without telling me.
"Wheres mommy?" Ollie asked.
"Um..." I had to think up something quick. I couldn't tell him the truth. He would freak out and scream until he saw her again.
"Mom is...out. At the store. She went grocery shopping!" Oh jeez. My lying was terrible. Anyone could tell I lying! Hopefully he wouldn't notice. He was only six anyway.
"Are you lying to me." He asked. Dang it! Um what do I say! I thought.
"No Ollie. I wouldn't lie to you, your my little brother and I love you." I said. Wow. I couldn't believe the crap coming out of my mouth. I was obviously giving him false hope. I was a terrible sister and I was the only one who knew it! To stop his suspicion I decided to take him to the park.
----------------------------------------------Jake's POV
I suddenly realized that my nose was bleeding when I tripped in the park. When I was picking myself up I noticed an odd shimmering crack in the sky! I wondered if this was the gateway to the Elf Realm! I wiped my bloody nose with my sleeve and whipped out my phone. I dialed my step-father.
"Hello? I think I found a gateway to the Elf Realm!" I said cheerfully. I couldn't wait to explore! My step-father came rushing behind me in a 15 minute wait.
"Thats an entrance to a new realm alright!" my step-father's coarse voice bellowed. I didn't know if I was excited or not. We leave at noon tomorrow.
----------------------------------------------Rose's POV
At the park Ollie immediately ran for the slides. I was walking to sit on the bench and I saw blood on the sidewalk. Don't freak out! I thought. Elf blood wasn't red. It was silver. Maybe a human got in already! I looked up at the sky and saw an odd shimmering crack in the sky. The humans! I grabbed Ollie and ran home. I locked the doors and windows. I found mom in the backyard. She was spread out in the grass. I didn't tell her to come inside. I was angry with her. For leaving her children without warning. I just scoffed and closed the door. I put Ollie to bed for his nap. I didn't realize how tired I really was. I climbed in bed and fell asleep. I had a strange dream. A good looking boy was in it. I didn't know who the boy was but he was human. Then what I guessed to be his father. His father was calling him. Jake. Telling him to watch out. It was all so confusing.
----------------------------------------------Jake's POV
Before we left for the new realm, i packed a few things. A camera, some jackets, and water. A camera to take pictures of the elves. Jackets because I didn't know what the weather was going to be like. And water because I didn't know if the water there was okay to drink. I dozed off excited to see elves for the first time in person. I dreamt of a pretty girl. A rose in her hair. Long furry ears. She was an elf. Were elves really this beautiful? She started running. Running from someone. A human. What I saw in my dream scared me. She was running from me! Perhaps this dream was showing me the future. Or not. I would find out at noon tomorrow.
