As Asuna led Julio towards the gym he couldn't help, but notice she only had one pokeball. "Hey did you just start your journey as a trainer" Julio asked. "Yea I got a Snivy from Professor Hikaro two weeks ago and I've been dying to start my journey" Asuna said.
"Well I've been a trainer for about a year now so I've seen quite the amount of things in that time, but I'm relatively still new compared to others" Julio said.
"So you have experience in battling at least unlike me" Asuna said. Julio and Asuna approached a building with a rough stone like complex. "There it is the Okinawa Gym aka the rock gym" Asuna said.
"Well this is slightly different than the one in California, but mostly looks the same" Julio said as he walked in. Asuna followed him in reluctantly as she looked nervously at the symbol on the door.
Julio walked into an open area with jagged rocks and pillars. Julio noticed that none of the seats were even taken. "Well that's a surprise" Julio muttered. "So where is the gym leader" Asuna asked.
"Try right here" said a voice from above. Julio and Asuna turned to find a man in his twenties sitting on the ledge above the walk way. He jumped down and greeted them. "The names Daichi I'm the gym leader"Daichi said as he bowed.
"Hi I'm Julio and this is Asuna" Julio said as he bowed back. Daichi looked surprised as Julio took on Japan's customs. "So who shall be battling me on this visit keep in mind one of you can battle me and both of you may have the badge if you win of course" Daichi said.
"That would be me" Julio said. "Very well, but I have to warn you this will be no easy battle" Daichi said as he took his position. Julio did the same as Asuna went to sit down.
"Go Dweeble" Daichi said as he tossed his pokeball.
"Hm interesting Go Infernape" Julio said as his Infernape came out ready for battle.
Both Trainers stood there waiting to see who would make the first move. Infernape stood his ground waiting for an order. Dweeble decide to pace back and forth.
"Infernape use flamethrower" Julio said.
"Dweeble protect now" Daichi said. Dweeble cocooned itself in its shell as flamethrower hit it. When it emerged it was unharmed, Daichi got a grin on his face.
"Dweeble use stone edge" Daichi said. Dweeble sent tons of sharp stones towards Infernape. They were too fast for Infernape to dodge, the stones hit Infernape and he fell to the ground.
"Come on now I know you can take take that get up Buddy" Julio said as Infernape struggled to get back on its feet. "That's it now let's show him what we are made of you Mach Punch" Julio said.
Infernape ran towards Dweeble and punch it, the Dweeble took extreme amounts of damage as it went back a few feet. The Dweeble also struggled to get back on its feet.
"Well it seems as if we both exchanged some very massive damage dealing blows" Daichi said. "That indeed to be honest I think both of our Pokemon can handle one attack" Julio said.
"That I agree on, so Dweeble use rock wrecker" Daichi said as Dweeble hurled a gigantic rock towards Infernape. "Ha perfect Infernape use Rock Smash then follow with Flamethrower" Julio said.
Infernape waited for the right moment and then smashed the rock into a million pieces and them used flamethrower.
Dweeble fell to the ground and was unable to battle. "Well that was a good combo come back Dweeble, but let's see how you do now Go Boldore" Daichi said as he sent out Boldore.
"Good job Infernape take a break, now go Oshawott" Julio said as a small sea otter came out of the ball.
"Oshawott Razor Shell"
"Boldore Rock Blast"
