Have you ever gotten so nervous you felt like you were going to fall down and everyone would just stand and do nothing about it? Your vision starts to collapse on you and anybody calling your name would be blocked out because your hearing is failing you.
That's the kind of nervous Mangle is feeling only two times worse.
She could barely take a step forward without her legs threatening to collapse underneath her and fail to carry her any farther. Her pale forehead was practically dripping with sweat and her heart almost hurt from racing a million miles a hour.
"Earth to Mangle!" a blonde said waving her hands in front of the small girl's face making her blink with realization that she still had to go in and even if she didn't want to, the girl beside her was going to drag her in.
As Mangle blinked more her vision returned and she saw the students going into the high school in front of her. She slowly started to hear sounds around her like a robin chirping up in a tree and two kids next to her who were chatting about video games. Mangle shifted her shoulders causing her backpack strap to slip down off her left shoulder.
"Yeah, hey." Mangle mumbled looking up at the huge high school and feeling small and insignificant in this large field of kids who were all special in there own way.
"Deep breath! Chill and let's go!" the blonde said leaving the small girl behind on accident, but soon realized her mistake and ran back to help the smaller girl feel better. "You not coming?" asked looking down at Mangle while crossing her arms across her chest. Not as a sign of being angry, simply highlighting her impatient attitude of getting this school day over.
Mangle shook her head in a 'no' fashion which made her white hair, that she found extremely weird to be her natural color, move softly back and forth. Her amber eyes looked down at the ground and studied the rocks and paint on the pavement below her.
"What's the worse that could happen?" the blue eyed girl asked smiling at Mangle who didn't see it because she was looking down.
"Humiliation, injury, talking, death-"
"Oh hush!" the blue eyes girl said playfully shoving the girl in the side and rolling her eyes. "None of that will happen on my watch, well maybe not the talking, you need to do that."
Mangle looked up and saw her best, and only friend, smiling at her. "Of course it will be easy for you to fit in. You've always been a natural social butterfly." Mangle said being almost jealous of her bubbly personality and likable character.
Who in the whole world would like a simple girl who didn't talk at all?
"And you can be too! Just listen to what they tell you in your classes. Hey here's a deal, make it through the day and I swear I will buy you a cupcake from that little store you like if you meet new people." she said holding out her pinkie for a pinkie swear.
Mangle finished the promise by connecting her own pinkie. "Alright see ya TC." Mangle said with a little wave and a forced smile because on the inside she wanted to sob at the fact she would be all alone on the first day until lunch. That's what happens when you and your only friend get placed in different homerooms.
Before leaving, Toy Chica fixed her friend's hair by putting a small clip in it that held her bangs back in one area and adjusted her backpack so it fit Mangle's body perfectly. Mangle's eyes followed her only friend as she disappeared into the crowd and an overwhelming feeling of loneliness creeped up on her until her hearing went missing again and her vision starting to cave in.
