Ilvermorny

The door shut behind me. I was inside a circular room with a glass dome for a ceiling. Below the glass, there was a balcony, currently vacant. In the center of the room, there was a seal, of 3 interlocking ovals. I read somewhere, surprisingly not a magic book, but a history one, that this was called a "Gordian Knot". I stepped in the center of the knot, and the lights of the room started to dim. Suddenly, I noticed the four statues in the room. One, was a large bird, with thunder detailed all around it. Next to that, was a great serpent with massive horns growing out of its head. On the other side, was what looked like a enormous, sharp toothed cat. Opposite to the bird, was a small humanoid figure, with large facial features. The seal below my feet glowed, and immediately, I heard the cat roar. Simultaneously, the massive bird beat its wings. Then, everything fell silent. The room lit up again, and I stood still. I wasn't sure what to do. Still clutching my wand, I called out into the darkness
"Hello? Is anyone there?"
I didn't have to wait long for a reply. A door opposite of the one I came through opened, and out came a kind faced young-looking woman. She spoke softly,
"I believe you are about 2 weeks early. Our letter said, September first, correct?"
"Well, you see..." I responded as I launched into my story.
"Due to your special circumstances, I give express permission for you to stay at the castle year round. School starts in about 2 weeks, so let's take this time to get to know each other. My name is Alice Killik, and I'm the Headmistress here at Ilvermorny. Pleased to make your acquaintance" she said, extending her hand.
"Clair. Clair Silvair" I responded, taking her hand. We walked to her office, and talked some more. She told me about the school, and what they taught.
"Our professors won't be here for another week, so it's just you, me, and some pukwudgies at the school" Seeing my face pale, she quickly added, "It's more than enough to keep you safe. The enchantments that lay on the ancient stone," she touched a wall as we passed, "are enough to keep anyone we don't want out".
Wanting to change the subject, I instead asked her,
"What is a Pukwudgie? You speak very highly of them" I commented. She replied, "Pukwudgies are the caretakers of our school. They do all the cooking, cleaning, you name it. They aren't the most pleasant of creatures, so if you come across one, I suggest you leave it be. What exactly have you learned so far?" She asked, gesturing towards the books I had in my bag.
"I've mostly been reading about spells and household charms," I replied. "I did get a fair way through the magical creatures one, so I was able to identify a dementor on sight."
"So you can defend against dementors? You can produce a patronus?" She inquired, very interested.
I quickly replied, "No. I used Lacarnum Inflamarae."
"Interesting... I've never heard of that tried. What did it do to the creature?" She asked.
"I didn't stick around to see, sorry. I wasn't sure if it would work, you see. I wanted to put as much distance as I could from that foul thing."
"No need to worry now," Alice assured, "By the way, what house did you get?" At my confused look, she continued, "which of the statues in the front room reacted?" Remembering back to a few moments ago, I responded,
"The bird-"
"Thunderbird" she corrected.
"Thunderbird, and the cat"
"Thunderbird and the Wampus" she corrected again. "When students are chosen by multiple statues, they get to choose out of the ones that picked them. The Wampus values  warriors, and represents the body.  Thunderbird values adventurers and represents the soul. Well? Take your pick" she urged. Adventure? My journey was certainly an adventure, but I certainly didn't want to do that again. I had to become a warrior, to finally take down the woman that had taken everything from me. Wampus, was the obvious choice.
"Wampus" I answered after a moment of thought. "That's my final answer"
"Very well. Let me take you to your room so you can get settled. Find me in my office in the morning, and I'll give you the tour." Alice replied. We walked for a ways, until we finally came into a room with a fireplace in one corner, and case full of trophies in another. Through another door within the same room, there was a room with several beds. "Here we are. This is your dormitory. Make yourself comfortable" she said, backing out the door. Alone with my thoughts, I climbed into bed, and went to sleep.
