Kora's POV
I'm getting tired of Jace falling flat on his face over and over again. She's such a bitch, he's lost in those "beautiful eyes" and I quote. To note, she has basic brown eyes, hopeless romantic I swear.
"You gotta stop talking to her man, its seriously getting annoying repeating myself. DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO SAY IT DIFFERENT EVERY TIME?"Jace sighs, "I know alright? You've told me every time she's either ignored me, cheated on me or attempted to ruin my life. THOSE BROWN EYES BRUH."
Instead of building up with anger because of his depression and cringy love letters, I burst out with crying laughter. He stands there questioning my morals as I mock him about his struggles in life.
"Shut your mouth or I blurt out that you watch something a little dirty in your own time to that little boyfriend of yours," he smirks.
Oh shit, BRANDON. The sweet, sweet innocent boyfriend. Before I could say even the smallest threat back, Jace pegs a rugby at my chest.TELL HIM OFF FOR HITTING YOUR BOOB. WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WHAT BOOBS DO YOU HAVE? THE FAT ON YOUR CHEST IS NOT ENOUGH TO BE CALLED BOOBS
Urghh... stupid, insecure mind.
I cradle my chest for no reason while he dies of laughter.
"Karma hit you like a massive bitch," he smiles. Everyone finds Jace attractive, there are always girls falling to his knees, asking for his number, continuously winking, giggling at every shitty joke he has in his pocket. The only downside of being close to an "attractive guy" is that I get a lot of hate. I've been accused so many times of being in love with him which is so idiotic because I, for one, have no interest in Jace.
On the other hand, Lydia is near to convinced that I'm trying to "steal her man" and to be honest, I think that she is a complete asshole not just because she was messing with Jace but she's naturally two faced.Failing to interpret how to react to this situation, I overexaggerate the hit, attempting to fall to my knees but end up falling flat on my face. "FUCK, it looks like someone dragged my face through the courts."
Jace replies, " I would offer to give you a hand, but you know how our friendship works. We give each other advice, I scab money off you, play some basketball with Allison for every Thursday and then we move on with our day to day lives."
All I could think of was ways to get him back to balance out the scale. I feel my lip bleeding and blood running down from the scalp of my head. If my mum sees all this when I get back, she's gonna think I'm the new recruit with an Asian thug gang. I always find it weird how my mum takes things to another level. I try and rub off the fresh blood on my lips and stare at the dried blood that was from before.
Jace's POV
"KORA! KORA! KORA!" I wave my hands to and from trying to grab her attention from the ground. Yes, I threw the ball at her intentionally because it's always funny to see her react to the situation.
"She's blanked out you egg, why do you think she's not saying anything right now?" Allison comments. "We could possibly talk so much shit about her skinny taro legs and she wouldn't even know until we actually shake her." She continues to dribble the basketball and goes in for a three. "THAT'S HOW WE DO IT! AND THAT MY FRIENDS, IS WHAT YOU GUYS CAN'T. Nah I'm joking.
I reply, " It was obviously a fluke you can tell." To my surprise, Kora had snapped out of her la la land when Allison made the shot. It must had bounced around her because no one caught the rebound.
Ever since I saw Lydia on the first day of year 7, I felt sparks. Although Kora and Allison think completely differently. Yes, she has hurt me over and over again but I believe, the pain is worth it.
Kora speaks up,"What the fuck? Jace are you hearing the words coming out of your mouth? ARE YOU SAYING THAT HER MAKING YOU DEPRESSED IS WORTH IT!"
Oh shit, I said that out loud. I reply hastily,
"You've put up with me for a year i think you know I'm a hopele-"
Before finishing she says ,"a hopeless romantic who wants to be the modern day 'Romeo and Juliet'? Will you swoop her feet off the ground as you recite every word from that play?" As Kora continues to mock my words, she puts her hand on her chest as if she was putting on a show. I mutter, "shut up bro I'm already sad enough that Allison is ignoring me again because she thought i was being to clingy. I was only being my normal self, I was acting all cool and shit."
Kora looks up to my face with wide eyes and says, "you love yourself too much but I agree you weren't being clingy but you being too nice." She hits my shoulders, "DON'T BE A PUSSY."
Allison comes from behind and whispers into my ear, "Fag, if she hurts you again, you need to let go of her."
There's this built up sadness I feel when Lydia does this to me, as if she was punching me right in the gut endlessly.
"FAGGOT THINK FAST!" A basketball flung to my parts, and it hurt like a bitch. I stumble after the initial hit and laughter blares in my ears. Allison calms herself and says, "I wanted to see your reaction, it wasn't intentional to hit your balls." She smiles. "At least you got your mind on something not as painful as your problems," she raises her hands doing air quotations.--message sent from Lydia --
