Pyra’s P.O.V
Aniv grabbed me, as I fell to the floor knocking out a human, splattering his lunch all over him and of the place.
“FUCK!!!” he exclaimed. I can feel the rush of his adrenaline…of his anger.
Aniv pulled me up, grasping me from my arm, looking at me like a clumsy child. She hisses, “Careful Pyra. You’ll put us in trouble.”
“Yeah, you’re in trouble alright,” the human exclaimed as he stood up, locking stares with me. He forms his hands into a fist, having no other attention but to attack. I glared at him, amused, with the emotion that was filling his system.
“You’re going to hurt a girl?” I said, smirking, challenging him. His brows arched his breathing increases and he took a greedy step forward to me.
“Dude, Calm down!!!” Jan suddenly rushed to his side and pulled him back. I smiled, gosh, a weakling like you can’t make me take a step back. Aniv tightens her grasp around my arm, staring at me, telling me that this is not good.
“Well, she started it!!!” the human defended.
“Dude, that’s a girl. I’m sure it was just an accident. I’m sure…ahm…” Jan looked at me, asking for a name.
“Pyra,” I exhale
He nods, “I’m sure Pyra didn’t mean this to happen,” he said, not taking his eyes on me, “Right, Pyra?”
I looked at the human who is still steaming with anger. Hmm, I wonder if he would explode like shit if I pissed him off more. I bit my lip, I wonder how he would taste like if he is toast and burned. Gosh, I am so damn hungry.
“Yes, it was just an accident. Forgive my friend, she has social issues,” Aniv interrupted my thoughts. Her hands are buried tightly around my arm…it actually hurts. I flinched. She could be such a mother sometimes.
“Social issues?” I raised my brow at Aniv. She could do better than to make me look like a disturb creature.
“You’re Aniv, right?” Jan asked, ignoring my reaction, and the center scene has changed. From me, pissing off a human with a temper to the go golly eyes of Jan, flickering at the presence of Aniv. Seriously, is he a feminist or something?
Aniv exhales in disgust. I smirked, “Yeah, back at you girl!” my mind teased
“Yes, you’re Aniv. I remember you from class,” he exclaimed. “Ahm, this is Christian, my best friend. Christian this is Aniv and her…” he stopped, realizing that he doesn’t know anything about me…or of Aniv.
“Cousin,” and at last, I spoke. “I’m so sorry; I didn’t mean to spoil your lunch,” I played along, and it actually, worked. I could feel Christian’s exploding emotions soothes down. He is still looking at me…staring. I tried to curve a sweet smile, trying to be … human.
He nods as a sign of forgiveness. He looks down at himself, trying to flounce off the food in his shirt. “You owe me a shirt,” he said as he looks up at me again. Wow, here I am, hungry as hell, controlling every pleasure to take a life…and now, I owe a human a shirt. Could this idea of leaving the forest be ever go worse?
I looked at Aniv. She looked back. We are both pissed. And we have no choice but to comply.
“Sure,” I replied dryly, “I’ll buy you one these days,” more like steal one for you.
Jan burst out in laughter. He wraps his arm over Christian’s shoulder as we stood in surprise by his actions. “So, were all good then? Can we have lunch now? Aniv, Pyra join us!!!”
“Whaaaaatttt?!!!” Aniv and Christian exclaimed in unison. Wooh, what’s their problem?
“No, Jan. Me and Pyra has things to do,” Aniv rejects, holding my hand, ready to pull me away from this mess.
“Are you kidding bro? I’m not going to have lunch with the girl who just messes my shirt,” Christian disagreed, shaking off Jan’s arm from his shoulders
“C’mon, guys. Don’t be like babies. We get on from the wrong foot, I think it’s necessary for us to set things right.” he looks at Christian, “C’mon, bro, my treat!!!” and then looks at Aniv and me, “Please Aniv, we won’t bite.” He said smiling. Hell yeah, you won’t, but we do. He better back off before Aniv losses her patience.
I looked at Aniv again, gosh she looks pissed…really pissed. She closes her eyes, took a deep breath and opens them again. I can feel her tension being subside. “OK” she replied, wow! That’s a shock.
