Pyra's P.O.V
It was the middle of November, when I and my friend Aniv decided to go back to school. It’s been a while since I have laid steps on those kinds of crowded buildings, and honestly, I get tired of doing everything under control...over and over again. But life inside the forest is no good either, its quiet, its reserved and we could waste ourselves doing absolutely nothing. So this was the choice... HIGHSCHOOL.
"Excuse me sir," everyone stared at us as we interrupted a class discussion. "Is this Physics?" the teacher looked at us as if we're someone...something that should be hated. But we can’t blame them, who the hell go to school in the middle of the school year.
"I believe you’re the transferees from Canada..." he walked towards us, looking at us as if we are not welcome to stay. That pisses me off...if only he knew; he'll be kneeling before us
Aniv nodded, looking back at him, meeting his glare as if challenging him to an eye to eye battle. I just bowed down, not because I was afraid but because I don’t see any significance to waste my effort just for him to fear me...
He stayed quiet. And after a while with the staring thing he finally introduced us to the class. "Class, you have two new classmates. They are transferees from Canada." he looked at us, "welcome to Kansas" he said
Aniv and I exchanged glances. This man is a jerk.
"You can both sit at the back," he instructed. As we walked to our chairs, everyone's eyes were on us. I can feel every reaction they on us...disgust, shame, curios, and stuff. And I hate it when people feel that way towards us.
We sat down and the day continued. I looked at Aniv. I looked at how she controlled herself, the way she handles the call of thirst and of hunger. Lucky, she only reads minds...unfortunate for me, because I can hear every beat of life their every blood cell contain...and more and more...I am losing myself to the sound of it, unleashing the horrible things that I am capable of doing to each and every one of them. And I could start from that smelly rug of a teacher.
“HOLD IT!” it was a whisper, but it came as a surprise to me. I looked at Aniv, she looked back at me. “It’s still early,” she said. She must have read my mind; after all, I’m bursting of ideas to how to have supper with these humanoids. She’s authorative and I get that a lot. She knows a lot of things that I most often take for granted for. I’m not a detailed kind of a being, I get what I want without even the slightest thought of thinking, and most of the time she’s the one who cleans my messes up. She has this serious type of mood while I have the best of the killer instincts. She reads minds; I can hear the smallest sounds inside a body and feel the slightest emotions of my considered enemies and threats. She levitates, I teleports. She kills by squeezing your brains out, I kill by ripping you apart….and both of us enjoys that a lot….so much. Now, do you have any idea of who we might are? Or what we might be?
You’re right.
MONSTERS.
DEMONS.
KILLERS.
And it’s time for our first hunt for the year.
