"GAVIN! GET YOUR ASS OUT OF BED NOW!" I awoke to the sound of my mother screaming up at me from the kitchen.
"I'm up, I'm up!" I yelled back. I threw on the pants that I had worn yesterday, grabbed a shirt out of my closet, and ran to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and ran my wet hands through my hair, to make it look like I had showered. I practically fell down the stairs, throwing my shirt on.
"Jeez, mom, I was just finishing up in the shower."
"Uh huh, riiiight." I rolled my eyes. My mom was pretty cool most of the time, but... sometimes she was just plain annoying.
'Should I tell him now, or wait until I know for sure?'
"Tell me what? Mom?" She gave me a confused look.
"I didn't say anything. Are you feeling alright?"
"Yeah, fine. I better hurry, or I'm gonna miss the bus." I sprinted out of the house and up the street. I had just barely gotten to the bus stop when the bus pulled up.
"Dude, you were almost late. Again," my best friend, Alex, said as I sat down next to him.
"Well, I had a good reason today. As I was leaving my house, I thought I heard my mom say something. Only, I didn't hear it with my ears. I heard it with my mind."
"Dude, you smoking crack or something?" he said, as the bus pulled up to our school. As I was getting off the bus, I accidentally bumped into someone.
"Hey, bro, back off. Watch where you're going!" I said. I looked up into the face of the guy. Just my luck. It was Kurt "The Hurt" Lockman. Our school bully.
"Run, Gavin, run!" I heard Alex shout. So I did. Straight into Lockman's Gang.
