Sun Kissed

Chapter 5

I looked down and realized I was holding Jacobs hand. I quickly looked back at Miley and Jackson to see if they saw. There were talking quietly and looking at us. My face turned  bright red. But I didn't let go. I didn't want to. I wanted to freeze this moment it was such an awkward but amazing feeling. At that moment I realized I was in love. In love with someone that I was meant to be with. I can feel it. Anyways we quickly arrived at IHOP a breakfast restaurant. We went inside and got a table I sat across from Jacob and Miley sat across from Jackson. We all were so happy. The waitress came to our table and asked us for our orders. I ordered a chocolate chip pancake and an egg. Miley ordered a reg. Pancake and toast, Jacob ordered an omelette and toast and Jackson just got eggs and toast. The waitress went away and we talked.  We asked the boys how old they are cause I guess we never asked. Jacobs birthday was August 7th and he is 17. Jacksons was May 12th and he is 16-so is Miley.  We told them our ages/ birthdays too. Miley is 16 and her birthday is April 9th and mine is June 17th and I'm 17. We were talking about colleges and jobs we want to do. I told them about my job/college ideas. Miley doesn't know what college but she wants to be a veterinarian. Jacob wants to be a pro Athlete (which I think is awesome) and Jackson wants to be a surfer. All pretty cool jobs I'd say. The waitress brought us our food. We all ate our food and it was really good. We tipped the waitress then not back into the car to go to the beach. After a little bit I looked back and saw that Miley and Jackson were leaning in for a kiss. It was just peck- that's all we've ever done.  They were holding hands also. I put my hand out to hold Jacobs hand but it took him a minute to hold it back because he was driving. When we got to the beach we grabbed the blanket and walked down to the beach. We payed the blanket down and we just layer on it together for about an hour. Holding hand and talking. A quick kiss or two also. Then we got up and played in the water. We played chicken that was really fun. It started to pour and I was cold. Jacob gave me his sweatshirt and then I was a bit warmer. We were walking up to the car and Jacob looked at Jackson and he looked at him. Then they both looked at us and said at the same time as if they'd practiced it "will you go out with me?" We both yes. I was so happy he asked. We held hands all the way to the movies. When we got to the movies we bought four tickets to see the movie sleepless in Seattle, we bought two drinks and two popcorns- one for each couple to share. We walked into the theater. We were early so it was just previews for a while. Once the movie started it was a bit boring at first but it got really good. While holding hands with Jacob and eating popcorn my phone rang. I was wondering who it could be... I don't normally get calls. It said Unknown. So I told Jacob I would be right back. I grabbed my iPhone and stepped out in to the hall. I pushed the answer button.
*start call conversation*
Me: Hello?
Unknown: Hey Stephanie. ( they sounded sad)
Me: Who is this?
Unknown: It's dad. I have some bad news.
Me: oh hi... what is it??
Dad/unknown:  *long pause. Starts crying*
Me: What is it?!?!?!?
Dad: your mom..... she's.... dead *crys hard*
Me:WHAT?! *starts bawling*
Dad: *calms down a bit* idk it happened so fast.
Me: what happened???
Dad: they said she had a stoke and died immediately. *crys softly*
Me: *silence and crying* can I come see you?
Dad: yes I'm at the hospital.
Me: okay see you soon.
*end of call*
I can not believe my mom is dead. I can't believe it. How?? This is horrible. I need Jacob. I hate life*bawling* I calmed down some and walked in. I asked Jacob to come out in the hall with me.
*our conversation*
Me: Um😰😤
Jacob: what's the matter babe? Are you okay?
Me: no. I'm not okay *bawls and hugs him*
Jacob: what's wrong??
Me: my- my mom. She's- dead.
Jacob: omg! I'm so sorry!! *hugs me tightly*.
*end of our conversation*
We walked back in and got Miley and Jackson. We went out in the car and headed to the hospital. Jacob waned to stay but I said it was best if he went home. So he dropped me off and then brought Miley and Jackson home. Right when he got home he texted me to ask me how things were. I told him I was still devastated and things are gonna be hard for awhile.
