"Two chai lattes, no ice and two shots of expresso coming right up." Chanyeol smiled at the two girls roughly his age before starting on the drinks. "God what a man." One of the girls whispered to the other, hardly audible. "I know that's why I insisted coming during his shift." The other smiled looking at Chanyeol's slender and unusually tall figure. Chanyeol overheard them and tried his best to refrain from looking ridiculous and letting out a toothy grin. He thought to himself, the girls were actually beautiful, very beautiful as a matter of fact, it's too bad he was gayer than the word gay itself. He sighed with a smile finishing up the lattes before handing them to the two girls eyeing him up and down. It was always like this really, always getting hit on by women, as well as men but Chanyeol just genuinely was not interested in any of them and hadn't had a proper relationship for quite sometime. Nothing ever felt completely right with any one so he'd just decided to continue making art and spending his days making coffee. His mother wasn't completely on board with his lifestyle but frankly Chanyeol was never really one for exquisite lifestyles and he was more than alright.
"Yeol, can you can go on and restock the magazines on the side tables? Jongin left early, had a date with what's his name, Sehoon? Sennie? Se-"
"Sehun." Chanyeol interjected seeing Junmyeon struggle with the name and letting out a small laugh. "Ah yes Sehun how could I forget, anyway do it quick please Jiyoung has been on my ass about the magazines not being properly placed or whatever as if it mat-" Chanyeol interjected once more "Junmyeon" He chuckled "I've got it just watch the coffee and don't let it overflow again and for once in your life stop going on rant mode about everything." Chanyeol let out another laugh before grabbing the stack of magazines off the shelf and walking over to the table placed by the bookshelves. He began laying them out before something caught his eye. He picked up a GQ magazine titled "Hottest Model in South Korea" and graced his eyes over the portrait for longer than he should have, clearly the title was not lying. He was gorgeous, that face could only belong to one person, Byun Baekhyun. Chanyeol hadn't seen Baekhyun since high school ended which was roughly about 5 years ago but the memories were still there like he had just seen him yesterday. He flipped through the pages of the magazine finding even more exquisite photos, all showing Baekhyuns remarkably chiseled face from all angles. Chanyeol missed him. Senior year was when things between the two felt less like two best friends and more like lovers. Days were spent together after classes at each others houses and when no one was home Baekhyun would use opportunities to sneak an innocent peck on Chanyeol's cheek. Of course neither of them thought anything of it. Just two friends and a platonic love for each other. Nothing more, nothing less. Except Chanyeol perhaps wanted to be kissing his lips instead and gracing his soft skin, he bit his lip at the thought and continued admiring the photos in front of him as a familiar feeling of butterflies came rushing back and his cheeks heated up. He closed the magazine in an instant when he felt the presence of someone standing above him and looked up, gave a shy smile at the lady looking at him in confusion. "Anyahaseyo." He greeted standing to bow and walked away quickly feeling the heat in his cheeks intensify. 'Pull yourself together chanyeol you haven't seen him in forever and he only saw you as a best friend' his subconscious reminded him as he went back to taking orders.

It was about 9:45pm which meant closing time would be hitting in around 15 minutes. 'Thank god' Chanyeol thought to himself, it's been quite a day. While starting to wipe down the tables , he heard the sound of the faint bell that rang anytime someone entered the shop and turned around immediately practically sprinting to the cash register to take the person's order.
Baekhyun could not believe his eyes. If he wasn't mistaken this was Chanyeol, his Chanyeol his best friend since primary school. Not even the Chanyeol he was used to but an even hotter version and a much taller version if he does say so himself. He decided to have a bit of fun since Chanyeol had not realized it was him yet and gave his order, "Can I get a white mocha with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, double blended?" Of It wasn't until Chanyeol looked up that he realized who it was. Byun goddamn Baekhyun. "Baek?" Chanyeol said refraining from letting out a gasp as he took the beauty gracing his eyes. "Channie" Baekhyun practically jumped over the counter out of excitement and into Chanyeol's arms. He still smelled the same, like laundry detergent and the smallest hint of mint mixed with cologne. He smelled like home. Chanyeol hugged him so tight taking in the smell of strawberries that came from Baekhyun's blonde hair. After what felt like an eternity, he thought he might actually break the boy and only loosened the grip once he felt Baekhyun start to pull away.
Baekhyun looked up at Chanyeol smiling the toothiest grin back at him. Yup, still a dork. He laughed before he walked to a table and took a seat. "So Yeollie how have these five years been without me." He wiggled his eyebrows and smiled at the younger putting his feet over the table in front of him. "Fantastic, I didn't have to deal with people putting their feet over tables I just cleaned." He smiled sarcastically as he picked up a rag to clean the table. "No no no Yeol you have to make me my drink first duh. Do you not know manners, I remember you being more Gentleman like." Baekhyun scoffed rolling his eyes, obviously messing with the giant. "I'll have you know I am extremely gentleman like Baek" He rolled his eyes and started on Baekhyun's drink. "Mhm" Baekhyun said with a smile as he roamed around the coffee shop rummaging through the books that were displayed on the several bookshelves. "I always envisioned you working in a place like this you know." Baekhyun hummed as he graced the books with his fingertips. "And why's that?" Chanyeol asked while adding the finishing touches to Baekhyuns drink. He had to admit, he was a damn good barista. "Something about hipster cafes just screams Yeol to me, that and also art." Baekhyun added, wrapped up in his own world and looking like a kid in a candy store browsing through the various selections of novels. Chanyeol smiled bringing the mug filled with coffee over to Baekhyun. "Well you're not wrong, actually exactly correct." He looked at baekhyun and raised his eyebrow "Have you been stalking me?" He smirked in a joking way and sat with baekhyun at a table. "Oh please as if I have the time. In case you haven't noticed I am an internationally known model." The elder stuck his tongue out mimicking Chanyeols actions and proceeding to take a sip out of his coffee. "Ah yes how could I forget, baekie taking the world by storm as everyone envisioned i see?" Chanyeol smiled. "Mhm when will anyone ever have a best friend as iconic as me?" Baekhyun questioned seeing Chanyeols usual lively face turn into one of a child who didn't get the christmas gift they asked for. Chanyeol decided to change the topic quick asking Baekhyun about his profession and catching up on 5 years worth of lost time in the empty cafe.

Chanyeol forgot how it felt to laugh so much and being with Baekhyun he had remembered. It was getting late, 11:30 to be precise and it was an hour and a half past closing time but he didn't mind. "So, what's the sudden break from your busy schedule?" Chanyeol inquired, Baekhyun helping him pick up. "Just a few days before fashion week in Paris and New York and since I have no bookings, at least according to my manager I decided to stop by Seoul and relax a bit before I have to go again and I can tell it was a great decision, I missed you Yeol." He hung the rag to dry and stood by Chanyeol as he continued cleaning out the coffee machine. Chanyeol swears he felt his heart rate increase as his palms got sweaty. "Ah I see, I uh I missed you too Baek, why didn't you call? I tried to for the first year but it seemed like your number had changed." He stated, his voice giving away how nervous he was as he continued doing other things rather than look Baekhyun in the eyes. "About that... I'm sorry Yeol, you were dating that one girl, Dara and I, uh, was just a bit jealous because we are best friends and we always spent time together before her." He somewhat mumbled to himself looking down at his newly purchased Gucci sneakers, being an internationally known model had its perks. Chanyeol just hardly caught on to the last part of his sentence but nodded and turned to face Baekhyun, "Well Dara is long gone, I would spend time with you over her anyway." He smiled, in an attempt to lighten the mood and by the way Baekhyun's smile took over his entire face he could tell that it had worked. In the midst of the moment the two boys shared the eldests' phone went off with a text message from his manager Jongdae telling him he had scheduled a photoshoot with Tom Ford the next day at 10am sharp. Baekhyun sighed at the text and put his phone in his pocket. "Any chance you could spend the day at a shoot with me as two friends tomorrow to catch up some more?" He questioned, hope glistening in his eyes. "Absolutely." Chanyeol stated almost too quickly , the shorter laughing at the giants sudden rush of happiness as they exited the Cafe.
