It was like your typical day in a small town. A girl named Victoria had just gotten to her dorm room that she shared with her best friend Sam.

"I think that I have finished unpacking." Victoria said as she jumped onto her new futon.

"Me too." Sam said as she reached for the newly bought sparkling cider, "I can't believe that we are roommates!" she practically yelled as she popped the lid off of the bottle.

"Me either." Victoria said while jokingly rolling her eyes at Sam. Then she poured a little bit of the cider into two glasses. "We should make a toast. I mean this is our first time that we are trying to live by ourselves. More importantly, this is also our first year of college."

"Vicky, as much as I love the idea of making a toast to having a good first year of college, I have to ask. Why couldn't you get us some champagne?" Sam asked in a joking tone just serious enough to know that it was a real question.

"Sam we are underage. As much as I would just love to go to jail, we do actually have to go to school in a week." Victoria chuckled and started a toast. "Here's to doing well in college and to meeting some new friends."

"Don't forget finding some hot guys!" Sam smirked at what she had said and took a sip. Victoria followed right after her.

"Of course you would say that." Victoria chuckled at her best friend. They had decided to go to the same college because the college was perfect for science and psychology degrees. Sam was a very bright girl who wanted to major in science, and Victoria wanted to major in psychology. Another reason that they decided to go to the same college was that they were best friends and they had been dreaming of this day for years.

"When we dreamed of this as children we said that we would go to parties and buy some booze." Sam muttered with humor. "What happened to that?"

"What happened was that neither of us did the math to find out that we would only be 18 in our first year of college." Victoria replied and chuckled.

"Touché." Sam said somewhat begrudgingly.

"Although we probably will still go to parties." Victoria said as she looked over at Sam.

Sam's eyes lit up, "...and drink booze. Don't forget that." she added.

"Alright, but for now I'm going to bed. I want to take full advantage of not having to wake up early before school starts." Victoria said with evident tiredness in her voice.

Sam started to say something, but then thought better of it. "Goodnight Victoria."

"Goodnight Sam."
