Simone POV:

I've always read fanfics on wattpad. bull shit stories about falling in love through twitter or meet and greets. things just don't happen like that. I wish they did, hell, every girl in the world wishes that it did!

I wipe the tears away from my cheeks and throw my long, light brown hair into a messy bun. I throw my phone down onto my bed and realize that I just finished reading my 13th fanfiction in the past two days. I head down stairs to see my dad reading a letter at our kitchen table. his eyes were red and watery, and it look liked he had just been crying.

"dad?" I choked, trying to get the words out, "is everything okay?"

he looked up from the letter and gave me a sad smile.

"mom." he cleared his throat, "we should visit her. she's not doing too well." you could see the sorrow in his eyes. mom was diagnosed with lung cancer a few months ago. the doctors said that she was diagnosed too late, and there's little treatment they could do.

it's a saturday, so my younger brother Jason and I could visit my mom in the hospital without missing school. Jason is in 7th grade and is too self concieded in my opinion. he's the only guy I know who desperately cares about his looks, and is always on top of the new styles. although, he does have a big heart, and his cheeky grin could always lighten everyone up, even with all this crap with my mom being sick going on.

wow. I've never been this nice to my brother!

my dad and brother quickly get dressed, but I take longer. with two boys pestering me down the stairs to hurry up, my head begins to pound. I quickly brush my hair, which is down to my bum so it's not too easy, and throw on blue skinny jeans and dark brown, worn out uggs.

my dad is still screaming at me from down stairs.

i run down the steps to see Jason sticking his tongue out at me. as I take my first step outside I immediately feel the cold air grasping my lungs, and giving me the chills up my spine.

typical London weather.

we hop into my dad's BMW and I flinch as the brisk, leather seats ice my legs. I suddenly remembered I forgot the bracelet for my mom in my room.

ever since the up all night album, I have made bracelets for my mother with titles of songs from one directions albums. with her being sick I made a bracelet with pink and white lace, and "strong," from midnight memories, written across it.

"dad! I forgot moms bracelet inside! let me go get it, pleaseee." I begged with a helpless smile. "I forgot it because you and Jason were nagging me to hurry up."

he snickered into his palms and motioned his hand towards the house.

I jumped out of the car and once again feel the freezing air punch me in the stomach. the sky was so grey it could down-pour any second.

i reach my room and grabbed the "strong" bracelet off of my night stand. I head back down stairs but on my way out the door I can't help but notice the letter that dad was reading on the kitchen table. my face grew pale and a lump grew in my throat as I read the letter.

they are pulling the plug on my mom.
