Looking up at the ceiling of his apartment he stared at the ceiling fan as it rotated Hokori almost became hypnotized by the movement. The day was long and after being at the coffee shop from sun down to sun up he headed home and ended up where he is now. In his small red apartment laying on his bed next to the window as the blades of his fan waved him to sleep.
There were thousands of them in every direction coming straight for him. He stood in the middle of a dead plane the grass died away and the dirt was black, clear for miles. "Well, here we go." As the shadow warriors closed in on him he held his sword in one hand and his sheath in the other reading himself for the first strike.
When three of them closed in on him, they jumped in the air and sliced down on him, "too simple" He jumped into the air then blocked the attack with his sheath as his white sword sunk into the enemy to his left and his leg kicked the one on his right. Right after the first action four more came at him from behind and not finishing the one in the middle the four jabbed at him and the fifth in front of him held his blade and aimed for his head. He only smirked and in a before a second passed he was behind them cutting them in clean half as they all unable to stop the momentum jabbed their swords into the fifth as his sword fell out his hand. Hokori not even missing a second threw his sheath into the air grabbing the warriors sword and threw it at another approaching enemy. Catching his sheath he zipped past a group of enemies, grounding his sword, creating a wave of flames that turned a few hundred to enemies to ashes.
And even as hundreds were taken down thousands rushed toward him, "awe I love you all too." Ten more rushed him as his fist lit flames, he gave an uppercut to the first, after landing he placed a firm hand on the ground and kicked next two. They hit the floor coughing blood twitching until they went limp. Hokori replanted himself firmly sweeping up his sword creating red wave turning his once standing foes to a statue of dust that was blown away by the wind.
But the battle still proceeded to push until the end. Hours seemed like years as they kept pushing forward. There was no end to them why couldn't they just stop coming groups of them fused together making even greater enemies. They didn't go down easy and even with skill.
Breathing heavy he kneeled to the ground as even more closed in on him. The first shouldered his skull making him bleed as another drove a sword through his back. Coughing up blood he zipped behind the enemy and beheading him, then stabbing through the second to jab at the first. He zoomed forward and sweeping five of them and then incarcerated three and let the other two drop down hard.
He took a hard deep breath as three more swords impaled him. His vision became hazy and his breath became hesitant. "Fuck this hurts." As the last word growled out the statement he slammed his hands to the ground yet another wave of flames consumed the crowd.
'I won't be able to keep this up for too long,' he was at the end of his power if he didn't do something soon he was going to die and this mission would be a failure.
"What to do?" running out of time the even more of them came in. He closed his eyes and spoke to the heavens, "I'm sorry Akane I couldn't do it this time. I wasn't strong enough." He remembered her words to him,
"Don't die ok."
"Trust me I won't"
"No, that's not enough, your my world Hokori I wouldn't be able to even breath if you weren't here with me. So please please promise me you won't leave me."
"Akane I can't promise you I won't die-"
"BUT WHY-"
"Because I swear I'll be back"
"Your so fucking petty."
He could remember her crying in his arms before he left, she would see his face after this mission he will not die here. His opened his eyes as they faded to white and his muscles grew in larger. Steam hissed from his hand that he held his sword and sheath and on his knees, he clenched his teeth. Blood dripped from his temple and mouth. His clothes were torn and swords stabbed in his back.
He slammed the sword and it's sheath into the ground, and eyed all his foes. A giant cage of flames Held every single one of the warriors left stuck viewing the cage. Anyone that touched the bars of fire was turned directly to ash.
"Every foe for every number of sin to infinity, I hereby curse you to burn for all of eternity, For the number of evils you committed with a grin, I WILL NOW PAY YOU WITH THE SUFFERING OF CAGED SIN!"
With that chant, the flames of the cage grew hotter and brighter until everything in the cage was engulfed in flames leaving nothing but dust.
Hokori now completely drained of his energy fell to the floor but not until he finished the mission by saying,
"Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust." back to the spinning blades of the ceiling fan as he looked out the window. "It feels like a good day for coffee or maybe I'll go and see an old friend. Ha yeah, I think that's best, or even better coffee with a friend. I'll wait till tomorrow... right after some more sleep."
