"So what Now? Hokori you can't survive in this realm forever, you'll die and soon."
"THEN DO SOMETHING NICK, I'M DEEP IN THIS SHI-"
His sudden and severe coughs of blood cut him off as he dropped to the floor gripping his gut. Nick Fenskill, a warrior who's been a mystery stood up to Hokori's chin with deep black eyes and white hair he wasn't old in his late twenties even. He still wore his armor which was as deeply shaded as his eyes and his white sword strapped to his back in a white sheath. He was assigned to watch over Hokori and if possible to get his out of this dark crawl space which was only lit by few candles. They had fought and trained together as kids but there was and always will be a war between the two. One day it would be settled with a blade through a chest.
"You've moved down sir this small shed you call a home, this is a life for the Humani and a poor one at that you're far better than any of these... things here." He gestured to the room to exercise his point of scarcity.
Hokori closed his eyes and force himself to a stand he stood eye to eye with nick even though Hokori slouched just a little. The weight of his body was so heavy he leaned against the wall for support. "I've made a life here Nick I can't just abandon this here."
"WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU ABANDONING. SIR, THERE IS NOTHING HERE BUT SADNESS AND THE WEIGHT OF YOUR SINS. THE BLOOD ON YOUR HANDS OF YOUR BROTHER WAS NOT YOUR FAULT." He takes a second to breathe and then gives a long sigh before speaking again, "My apologies I didn't mean to-."
"It's fine It's fine. I understand I have been far too lazy for ages now. I've seen many perish far too many die in many ways. I couldn't do it anymore I lost my brother to the enemy of that world I can't bear to see another lost."
"There are others that need you please reconsider sir. What of your wife and-
"You've spoken and I denied-"
"Child."
Within the second that nick had interrupted Hokori could tear his eyes from the seriousness written on Nick's face.
"Child.....?" Dear God, he isn't joking. The warrior checked Nick's face again, he had to be lying, but just one look in his eyes was enough to convince him. This isn't a joke at all.
"H-," stopping to clear his throat he attempted once more, "How can... I mean how can you... are you sure."
"Hahaha I said it was your son sir, yes I'm positive it's your's, a young boy growing just like you but he toke his mother's white hair at birth and one of your red eyes." Nick looked down at his sword staring deeply then he laughed. "He will grow to be dangerous indeed."
"Hmm? White hair? and only one red eye what's the other?" The dark haired man kicked off the wall and straightened his back. He tried to hold back a smile but failed.
"The other eye is white but it fades to black as the day's progress but the only thing that seems to be keeping him Fallen is that read eye and his determination to be like you."
It looks like that battle with his smile wasn't a complete failure because his look stricken, "He is becoming like you hmm? how could this have happened?" His muscles tensed slightly almost as if he were trying to intimidate the dark man in front of him.
But he wasn't a coward, he stood straight and flexed as well the tension between them could spark a flame to make the apartment turn to ashes. "I was teaching your boy some swordsmanship since his old man wasn't anywhere to be found. He stabbed me and I coughed up blood it touched his skin under his right eye and absorbed his hair bleached white and that eye grows dark."
"Even if it be the truth I suggest you mind your words."
"And if I don't? You barely have enough strength to stand let alone fight with a sword you'd be kneeling is seconds." He grabbed his blade and grinned at the challenge set.
"Then I guess we have a problem we need to settle when I am at my fullest. I understand the situation and the seriousness and guessing that master sent you to come get me mean your failing which means I'll be on a mission before I've had time to even fill my gut. So take me home boy."
Nick growled as he drew his sword and jabbed at Hokori, but all he did was smile and catch the blade in between his palms, "Like I said when I get back to my fullest take me home."
"If I weren't under orders I'd kill you right here you lucky you bloody little beast." And with that threat, he opened his and a black gas started to form a ball in his hand. After the ball was complete he snapped and a portal opened consuming the room in a deeper darkness than before the only things visible were Nick and Hokori and a door that stood in front of them both.
"After you."
