Addison was a sweet girl. She really was. Talking to her now, I was trying my hardest to put together how Jace and her already fucked. He was... Jace. What the fuck did she see in him to let him have his dick in her less than 24 hours after knowing him? I mean, I didn't know her that well so maybe that was her thing.

She continued talking to me as I peeked around the private jet. Jace was passed out in on of the seats in the front of the plane. Aubrey and Declan, on the other hand, were deep in conversation over a tablet.

After trying to persuade Aubrey to lay down for thirty minutes, I gave up. He looked like he was going to pass out at any moment. Dark circles and bloodshot eyes were not his best friend. That was just his physical appearance. He couldn't even remember what we talked about in the hotel room and could barely focus on Declan. I had one ear listening to them, and Declan keep having to repeat things and explain himself more than he should have.

Although I was listening to them, I couldn't tell you exactly what they were talking about. It was about what was going on in Toronto and had something to do with Lucas, but they were talking somewhat is code. They were referencing things I didn't know and were using alternate names for things. That was probably one reason Aubrey was so confused, he couldn't remember exactly what the words were. From what I could tell, Declan was doing most of the work with Aubrey trying to keep up.

"Emerson?" I whipped my head back to Addison. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," I nodded my head and shifted so I was facing her. "Sorry, he's just worrying me. I wish he'd just go to sleep. I don't think he realizes this is counterproductive. He's just gonna have to do it all again."

"Declan and Drake are both like that." She shrugged. "Aubrey won't sleep until Declan does and vice versa. They'll try to outwork each other all night."

"You've seen them work together?"

"Yeah, I worked on a team with them for awhile." She took a sip of her coffee in front of her. "They butt heads a lot, but they usually get the job done somehow." She paused for a moment, thinking on how to phrase the next thing. "Drake and you...? I don't know how to ask..."

"No, we're not dating." I sighed.

"I didn't think so, but he's so... so..." She raked her brain for what she wanted to say. "Tame. Yeah, that's it, tame. I've never seen him act like this."

"What do you mean?"

"He's different, I guess." She explained. "I can't explain it, but he cares about you. He doesn't usually act like this."

"That's a good thing?" I raised a brow. "He's still an ass half the time."

"Yeah, that's just him though." She let out a small laugh, then took another small sip from her mug. "Declan is what worries me. Don't get me wrong, I love Declan, he's like a brother, but his competitive spirit gets to him. I know he wants you. You know he wants you. Just stay away, he's dangerous, especially when Aubrey is evolved. In his mind, Aubrey having you is a loss on his side and he'll do anything to have you."

"Addison, you don't have to worry about Declan and I." I rolled my eyes. "I don't just fall for any good looking guy that walks through the door."

"Just... stay away. Declan has his ways." She bit her bottom lip. "He'll have you if he wants you bad enough, and right now he wants you really really bad."

Her eyes shifted up and she grew quite. I felt a hand on my shoulder, making me jump a little.

"You okay?" Aubrey asked, while looking down at me.

"Yeah, I'm good." I smiled and moved over to the seat against the window. "You just scared me a little."

"Sorry." He sighed and slumped into the seat next to me.
