Too Much Is Never Enough: Chapter 3
~Kira P.O.V.~
~7 Months Later~Things with Joey haven't been the same since that one night where he left after answering the phone. When he came back to the house that night, I didn't ask questions and he didn't say anything about where he was. I was trying not to assume things because last time I did, I was wrong based on my assumptions.
As I was saying thing with Joey just aren't the same. For starters he was going out late or early in the morning and when he would return he would smell like alcohol and weed. I still never questioned him or assumed anything because I didn't want him to think I was putting things back into my head. I also noticed he was being more secretive. He used to tell me where he was going and who he was with and now he just says he's heading out,
With Tasha just 2 weeks or so away from her due date, she's been calling Joey up the yin yang. It irritated me like you wouldn't believe.
I was now sitting on the couch relaxing waiting for Jackie to come over so I could talk to her. We were on winter break and I finally had time to relax and not stress over school. One semester down, one semester closer to graduation was how I looked at it.
"I'm headin out Kira, I'll see you later" he said as he adjusted his snapback and grabbed his keys without even as much as shifting a gaze towards me.
"Bye Joey" I said with a sigh as I looked back down at my phone. I used to be so happy to see Joey but now it's like I look at him and I try to fill my head with everything I used to love about him but the assumptions overthrew my thoughts of what I loved about him.
He closed the door behind him and hopped in his car. I watched through the window in the living room as he sped off down the street till he was out of my line of view.
After about 10 minutes or so had passed; Jackie showed up. For someone who was laying low she was sure dressed like she was going out. She had a black mini skirt, light pink sequence blouse, and black toms. Her hair was all straight down her back and her make up was flawless.
"Where were you just at or where are you going?" I laughed lightly as she took a seat on the couch at the end of my feet. I sat up and crossed my legs so I could make more room for her.
"Decari took me out on a date today." She said with a smile she was trying to hide but her excitement wouldn't let her hide it.
"A date? How did that go?"
"It was amazing! We went out to lunch then we walked around a lake holding hands and talking about anything that was on our minds. At first it was awkward because Decari and I were so close as friends so for us to be on a date was weird, but the awkward tension went away in a matter of minutes and I had such a great time. It was such a simple date but by far one of the best dates I've ever been on."
"That's so cute Jackie! I'm so happy for you! Are you two going to go out on another date anytime soon?" I asked with a smile on my face. That was honestly too cute, her eyes had that glow and her smile was impossible for her to hide as she told me about her date.
"I don't know, I want to go on another with him but it doesn't have to be right this second. We can't wait a few weeks or something. I'm not looking for a relationship right now anyways. This is Jackie time and that's how it's going to be for a little while longer." She laughed a little as I joined her. "Why you look so glum sugar plum?" She flashed a look of concern.
"I don't want to bring the happy mood down or anything but it's Joey. He hasn't been the same lately" I looked down at my lap. Was it me who was making him change?
