CHAPTER 1
Sebastian Walker was alone. Aberdeen Place, Pike Street had been his residence, over the course of the past decade. Despite having an income worthy of sustaining a family of ten, he’d never been a man of extravagant tastes. Sitting on his couch, the view that met his eyes was proof of that.
In front of him stood his 30-inch television, which wasn’t used as often as he would have liked to. Beside his couch was an open window through which a view of the city was clearly visible. He always loved a bit of fresh air, and this was the sole purpose of its existence. A single bedroom stood out in the whole house, owing to its sharp purple colour. Well, the only reason it stood out, actually, was because it was the only bedroom in the house. The bedroom was, through a small pathway, connected to a gymnasium on its left. The gymnasium itself consisted of a treadmill and a couple of heavy weights. Not much, but enough to keep him in shape. There was no kitchen, and a solitary washroom was present in the corner of his bedroom. Yes, he was alone.
Despite his astonishingly good looks, a smile which charmed many-a-woman, a big bulky figure of 6’2” owing to his college basketball days, he had a deep sense of loneliness inside of him. The reason for this loneliness, one might question. Well, stated simply, it was his profession.
