As If Tomorrow Never Came

Chapter 1 - A new beginning

-Kathryn's POV-

I arrived at school and looked at the building. It looks very new. I think it's built only a few years ago.

I took a quick glance at the other people. They look very.. busy with their own business. These are just more reasons to not just stand here. I inhaled deeply and walked to the entrance.

As I walked into the school I am met with a lot of different people. I looked around. This place was even more new from the inside.

I exhale softly and grabbed my piece of paper.
"Number 1048", I mumbled to myself.

I put the piece of paper back into my pocket and walked to my locker.

I arrived at the locker and looked at it. Also looks pretty new. I grabbed the note again and read the code. I unlocked my lock and opened my locker. I chuckled softly at it. This all was so new.

My old school was in a really old building. Really old things. In all honesty, the school was on the point of breaking and crumbling to dust.

I grabbed some of my stuff out of my backpack and put it in my locker.

I closed my locker and saw a guy next to my locker. He looked around the age of 16 and he looked like a sophomore. He had dirty blond and slightly curly hair and yellowish eyes. His lips looked very soft and smooth. I snapped back to reality and locked my locker with a new code.

In the corner of my eye I saw the guy now looking at me. I looked carefully at him and was met by his look.

"Hi", He said.

I smiled friendly. "Hey."

He offered his hand, "I'm Damien."

I looked at his hand. I put my own hand carefully in his hand. Shaking his hand I clumsily stuttered out my name.
"I'm Kathryn."

He smiled and let go of my hand.
"Are you a freshman?"

I decided it would be handy if I kept my mouth shut so I just nodded my head.

He nodded back. "Me too."

I smiled friendly at him.

"Maybe I'll see you around." he says before walking off. I watched him walk off.

Once he was gone I leaned by back against the lockers. I exhaled heavily and grunted quietly.

"Why can't you just be normal for one second, Kathryn?"

I shook my head and walked to my first class.

Hey :D Welcome to my very first book/story ! This is my very first attempt on a story and I am very happy that I'm giving this a shot. I'm sorry if this chapter is not that long. I'll make longer chapters but I first need to get comfortable with my style of writing. I haven't written in forever so yeah.
