Hey! So this is kind of my first book. I hope you guys will enjoy it. I know that it's messy and that there are mistakes but once I finish writing this book I will see if I'm gonna rewrite it. Anyways, enjoy! :)

-Kathryn's POV-

"Are you excited for tomorrow?"
My mom has been asking me this question all day. I'm getting a little tired of it.

"Yes mom. Of course I am excited! It's a new year. New people!"

My mom smiled and walked up to me. She grabbed my shoulders and looked at me with a small pout on her face.

"Why are you growing up so fast?"

I chuckled and shrugged slightly.
"I don't know. Maybe because I'm a teenager."

My mom smiled and hugged me tightly. She made this weird happy groaning sound. I always imagine her being a friendly happy dinosaur when she makes that sound.

I giggle and hug her back.
"I love you mom."
"I love you too, sweetie."

I pulled back from her with a huge smile. She pecked my lips and walked out of my room.

I looked around my room. My mom always compliments me on how clean I'm keeping my room, yet it still looks messy to me.

I sighed and walked to my desk. I sat down on my desk chair and grabbed the class picture of 9th grade. Memories of 9th grade flashed through my mind.

Luckily I don't have to go to school with them anymore.

I sighed at my own thoughts. I can't say that about them, I barely even know them. I put the picture back in place and span around o the desk chair.

After a few spins I started to get dizzy and stopped my chair from spinning.

"Mom!"

After a few seconds of no answer I called her name again.

"Mom!"

No answer again. I frowned and got up. She didn't say that she was going somewhere. That made me wonder why she didn't answer. What if something happened and she needs my help?
I widened my eyes and ran out of my room.

"Mom?!" I yelled as I ran down the stairs.
If something happened to her, I would never forgive myself.

"Mom?!"

I looked around the hall. My breathing became slightly heavier as I stared to worry. What if dad came back and did something to her?

Right when I was about to break down, My brother walked in. I saw him and ran to him.
"Nate!" I breathed out as I arrived in front of him.

He looked at me with worry in his eyes.
"What's wrong Kath?" he asked me while grabbing my shoulders gently.

"I can't find mom. She was just in my room and then she left and now I'm looking for her but I can't f-" I couldn't finish my sentence.

"Kath!" Nathan interrupted me.
I looked at him with confused eyes.

"Mom is getting groceries. She forgot to tell you and asked me to tell you when I got home"

I sighed loudly in relief. I put my hand on my chest and steadied my breathing.

"I thought something horrible happened."

He smiled and stroked my shoulders.
"You're just nervous about tomorrow."

I shrugged off his shoulders and mumbled to myself "Yeah.. Probably."
