I quickly stuffed the bag into my drawer, and led my friends into my secret room. They all took their normal places- and made new ones with the couch they noticed that “I” had moved in. Yeah . . . I didn’t tell them about Garret like I promised. Lame, right?

Libby tucked her feet underneath her on the couch- declaring the right side officially as hers now. Naminé took her normal spot nestled in the first rung of the wooden ladder (you know, like kind bunk-beds or tree-houses have), already pulling out a book. Nathan and Ryan started up a Pokémon card game at the coffee table, sitting on the floor as usual; leaving me to steal Libby’s usual spot in the pink armchair and Layne to sit opposite the side of the couch.

I wondered where Garret was, and then mentally slapped myself.

No, I thought to myself. Don’t think about him. I wondered why I’d even care anyways. I growled to myself and buried my head in the credenza, pretending to be awfully interested in my Cheetos bag.

But then I noticed something while digging through my food.

It was a bag of Star Bucks coffee. My favorite flavor. My jaw dropped at the pretty little red bow wrapped around it. I flushed, shutting my mouth quickly and ripping off the bow.

Garret! Idiot.

I quickly hid it under a giant bag of Starburst. We had a rule. No one was allowed to open Starburst bags until the other one was finished (there were always at least two), and until Naminé decided to. They were her special favorites.

I knew no one would eat much out of here today—Nathan always got his snack first, Ryan didn’t eat unless prompted, Naminé normally only nibbled on what someone else was eating, and I could keep Layne and Libby occupied by throwing them something.

“Come on, I’m starving!” Libby whined from beside me.

I jumped at her sudden presence and hit my head on the top shelf. I swore and clutched at my now throbbing skull.

“Oops.” She giggled. “Sorry.”

I smiled darkly and handed to her her normal choice- a pack of skittles and got out a bag of BBQ Fritos for Layne. It was normal for anything around Libby to be accident prone. But that was okay, she kept my life interesting.

But, now that I thought about it . . . she had some competition with Garret.

I excused myself from the room, making sure to tightly shut the credenza and not look too suspicious. Curiosity was gnawing at me- I couldn’t help it- I had to see what Garret got me now. I wondered if I wasn’t supposed to have seen the coffee yet . . . but I knew Garret was smarter than that.

I cautiously opened my drawer, trying not to make too much noise, and picked up the large bag. It was about the size of an encyclopedia. I looked towards my closet, just to make sure my friends were distracted, and gently took the bag off of the light box inside.

I couldn’t help but let out a gasp.

He had gotten me Sv-01 Vocaloid 3; SeeU’s synthesizer pack.

But . . . why?! He had told me he wouldn’t get me good gifts until the small ones ran out. SeeU was my favorite! I didn’t understand . . . until I saw the small note at the bottom of the bag.
