"Dad are you ready to leave?" I shouted at him from the door of our small apartment. Just hours ago, I had stripped my room of all its personality, preparing to leave for Hogwarts.
"Coming! Just a second...ah, that's not good." I honestly don't want to know what went wrong. My Dad has been bringing his work home to spend time with me, and I felt a bit guilty of how far behind he has gotten.
"Just leave it Dad! The train leaves in twenty minutes!" I'll admit, I was freaking out just a bit. Allison and I had some things to discuss before school...if you know what I mean.
"Alright, Alright. Come on," he grabbed my arm and we apparated to an alley near Kings Cross station.
I still got that feeling everytime we apparated; like I was about to throw up. We hurried to walk into the station with my trunk and a bag that held my school uniform. I was aware of all the looks the muggles were sending our way, and I tried my hardest to ignore them. It made me anxious to get to the barrier; when we finally reached the barrier, crossed through it, and were at the station, my Dad helped me with my luggage.
"This is it, MP. Class of 1991. I am so proud of you. You will pass your N.E.W.T.s, and go on to be whatever you want to do. I'll see you on Christmas holidays. And I love you. And no fighting with prefects! Remember curfew... Whatelse?" Dad's annual rant continued. It seems it got longer each year. And this is the last time he'll ever say it...the last time I'll ever pretend to care.
"I love you too, Daddy." I hugged him before climbing onto the train, listening to his rant until the train whistle blew, and it slowly started to move forward.
"Have a good year!" He said, over the sound of everything else around us.
"I will! And don't worry about me," I stayed there, watching him until he was completely out of sight, before going off to find my friends.
I was walking to the Hufflepuff compartment of the train in a hurry, dragging my trunk along noisily, when I heard him. Charlie Weasley's voice was agreeing with someone, and then he started laughing. His laugh was hearty, and it put me in a really good mood. I was still smiling half an hour later when I (Finally) found my group of friends.
"Parks!" Allison squealed, jumping up to hug me. Her hair was blonder, and it was down.
"Allison!" I gasped, pushing the tall slim girl back in her seat. She grinned, and I grinned back.
"Don't mind us," Delphine muttered, her normal smirk plastered on her face and her dark hair like a veil over her head. Tonks was by her, smiling as well.
"I missed all of you! I swear, I did." I said, sitting by Allison, with my feet in her lap.
"You could've written more. I swear, I don't know who is worse between you and D." Tonks smiled, her hair turning different colors. Pink, purple-orange, pink again.
"It's not my fault! I had to recover from camping with the pigs." but Charlie is not a pig.
"Did you get my book?" Tonks smirked.
"Oh, you're one to talk, rainbow." I shot back at her.
We caught up on everything that had happened. Russia was cold, but very beautiful. Delphine snogged fifteen different males- she counted. Tonks got a wart from a jumping Grizzle and had to go to St. Mungo's. I told the girls that I cleaned the toilet. Needless to say, they were unimpressed with my summary.
"Well...er...Charlie Weasley has grown into his ears. I call him, by the way." There was a very large collection of 'Oohs' from the girls.
"I want to see!" Delphine said. Allison nodded her heading in agreement.
"Go see Mickey." I rolled my eyes at the two of them. However, D and Tonks thought Mickey was extremely attractive and what not, and left to find the Ravenclaw boy.
"MP, it's time to talk on our Bucket List." Allison said excitedly, pulling her list out.
"Oh joy," I mumbled, looking at the list.
1. Get steady boyfriend.
2. Snog a random guy.
3. Send an anonymous letter to someone.
4. Choose one person and stalk them for the entire year.
5. Party with Gryffies.
6. Steal Ravenclaw furniture.
"First, choose a person to stalk, since you put down an entire year,"
"Brianna." I said without thinking.
"Ooh, good idea! And she's a prefect too!" Allison cooed.
"We can deal with the rest later, yeah?" I asked.
"Yeah. I mean, it doesn't have to be right away." We spent the rest of the ride talking and giggling about the year ahead of us. For instance; Was Charlie Weasley really more attractive? When would our potions master retire? Why are my nails painted dark blue?
Tonks and Delphine did not return until Hogwarts was in view, and they hurried to change into their robes.
"How was Mickey?" I asked, tucking in my shirt and shoving my knee-high socks down to my ankles.
"Charming, as always." Delphine said airily.
"Of course." I stood up and my black robes fell to the ground.
We walked down the trail to where the carriages were, and got one to ourselves. Matt and Charlie were five carriages in front of us; not that I was looking. I vaguely wondered what the threstrals pulling the carriage looked like. I tried to remember what Grubbly-Plank had taught us for O.W.L.s, but couldn't.
We filed into the Great Hall, and sat at our Hufflepuff table. I sighed. It felt good to be back, surrounded by friends. I tried paying attention during the sorting hat's song, and the actual sorting. Honstly, I did. But a group of fourth year girls would not shut up. And, at Hogwarts, beating the daisies out of them with my fists is frowned upon. And there was Charlie. The way he smiled, and clapped when someone was sorted into his house. He didn't notice my staring, I don't think. Dumbledore said his speech, and a few rules that needed to be regarded. Curfew is at nine o'clock. Don't go into the forbidden forest; hence the name. When the food finally came, I was happy to fill my plate.
"MP, look at Brianna." Allison whispered. I did. Her and Charlie were laughing, and sitting by each other.
"Should we start stalking her now?" I asked.
"Nah. Wait a few days to get settled in again." I nodded in agreement.
