"Hey!" Marinette yelled, running after Chat who took her sketchbook. "Give that back!" She demanded, attempting to swipe it.
The cat just stuck his tongue out, shaking his head. "No can do, Soulmate." He smirked.
'Soulmate?'
"For your information, just because we're 'soulmates' doesn't mean we have to act like it." She rolled her eyes, glaring at the boy who seem to want to piss her off.
He still had a sly smile on his face, as he reached for Marinette's hand. She immediately lunged and kicked him where... Well, where the sun doesn't shine. "ME-OWCH!" He yelped, clutching onto "it" while rolling on the floor.
She covered her mouth, kneeling down to her injured soulmate. I am so sorry, Chat. Anger just got the best of me... "Chat? Oh my gosh, I am so sorry! Now just isn't the right time... C-Can you go home?"
He just continued rolling on the floor trying not to make a peep since her parents didn't know about these visits. "No... I don't think so." He manage to whisper, finally attempting to stand up.
Marinette rolled her eyes, helping the cat boy up. She was certain that Chat would talk about this the next time they have patrol. Which reminded her...
Today they had an extra patrol since the akumas have been appearing more frequently. No. I can't face Chat right now. Not when I know he's my soulmate and not Adrien... But of course her duties as Ladybug always came first. She needed to set aside her feelings and think of the people's benefits.
But what about her? She had her own benefits too. Being with Adrien was one of the benefits. She did NOT pick the option to be a superhero. "Princess? Do you have hot cocoa?" She jumped at the sight of Chat Noir sitting on the balcony railings, crisscrossed.
"Geez, did you really have to scare me?" Her tone was more cold and monotone as usual. Chat seemed to notice this and thought of how Nathalie usually spoke to him. Cold and monotone. So did his father. What happened to Marinette's sweet voice? The one that reminded him of his mother?
Adrien's thoughts then trailed off to Marinette being his soulmate and not Ladybug. They did have some similarities... Not very many though. Ladybug had ribbons in her hair. But both of them wore pigtails all the time.
Marinette had freckles while Ladybug didn't. Nope. Nothing similar. "I guess I do owe you. I mean, I may have damaged your chances of having future kittens." She slapped her mouth once the words have left them. "Th-That's not what I meant- I uh... No, don't think that-"
His smirk grew wider than before. She facepalmed herself mentally at her stupidity. Idiot, you're soulmates. It's my kittens too! "Hm? You want kittens in the future Purrincess?" She shook her head almost immediately.
Too young to hear about this stuff! "Just wait there while I get the hot chocolate. Oh and- try not to fall off okay?" Vast memories of Chat nearly falling off the balcony trailed into her mind. He nodded and looked around his surroundings.
The one thing that caught his eye was the many flower beds spread across. Varieties of flowers were planted in the little boxes. He jumped off the railing and into his room.
A loose-leaf paper covered in scribbles fell from the billboard. He couldn't quite see the writing since it was all wrinkled but he could make out "strong disguise". What did that mean?
He thought for a moment of the possibilities as to why Marinette would have this. Did she know Ladybug? Perhaps Marinette could land him a date with Ladybug!
The trapdoor swung open to reveal Marinette with two cups of steaming hot chocolate. Three marshmallows floated atop the beverages. He smelt them for a second, enjoying the tasteful aroma of the long awaited treat.
It had been so long since he's had hot chocolate. "You fix good hot cocoa, Princess. Let's talk on the balcony yeah?" This made Marinette worry. They would only talk on the balcony if it's something important.
What if he proposes?! I'm too young! Wayyyyy too young! Once again, the cat sat on the railing, scooting over for the bluenette so she could lean. "I know your secret." She gasped. Chat knew her secret?
Now he'll never leave her alone! She backed away, almost spilling the hot contents on her brand new shirt. "Wh-What? What secret?" Adrien wasn't buying it. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Because it's for his sake!
He bopped her nose lightly, smiling. "You know who Ladybug is in real life, right?" Relied washed over her. Chat hadn't figured it out which she was thankful of. "Me? Know Ladybug? Nah. I'm not cool enough for that."
Now he was the one backing away. ...Or scooting the other way because if he backed out he would fall. "You? Not cool? Marinette, you are the most coolest girl ever! A close second to LB of course." He winked.
Of course he would say something like that! It was Chat. The guy who is head over heels for ladybug. Which was her. "I know. You're in love with Ladybug blah blah blah." She tried to mimic him only to get a slight chuckle in response.
For a second, Adrien got lost in Marinette's eyes. It was like staring at a pool, no- an ocean of blue. They dazzled whenever he was near her. Not in civilian form though. His face softened at the small freckles covering her nose. It was cute.
How did he not notice it before? When he was Adrien? "Uh, Chat?" He snapped out of his daze before Marinette could make any assumptions. It probably creeped her out. They barely knew each other.
"Daydreaming about Ladybug, I assume?" She smirked, crossing her arms. "N-No." It both took them by surprise. Chat noir, the most confident person anyone could ever meet, was stuttering. It seemed too good to be true.
Marinette's cheeks were tinted with some pink. She thought Chat Noir couldn't get flustered. Guess she was wrong. "Okay, whatever... Anyways, thanks for the visit but I've gotta go to bed. Bye Chat."
He waved goodbye before jumping out of the window. Marinette followed behind a little while later, gazing at the Cat's silhouette. She was starting to warm up to him.
Maybe even a part of Ladybug did too. Because underneath all that strength and power, lies a teenage girl who can't even talk to her crush. A girl that's as fragile as glass.A small yellow paper caught her eye. Chat had given her his phone number. Since they were soulmates, it would be wrong not to text the guy. It took all the night she had in her but eventually she punched in the numbers and started off with a simple "Hello".
Marinette: Hello
Meanwhile at the Agreste household, a tired boy came back from his little visit. Plagg flew to his side, ready to tease. "What a nice date." Adrien rolled his eyes and decided to ignore the kwami. What use could he do anyways?
Jokes aside, he felt his phone vibrating. It was a text. From Marinette. He honestly didn't expect her to actually text him. For one, she hated him. And for two, well... She hated him. That's all he was going to say.
Chat: Hello Purrincess
Marinette: Stop calling me that!
Chat: Did you enjoy our date?
Both him and Marinette's faces turned red in an instant. He did NOT mean to send that!
Marinette: Uh sure...
Chat: Gtg Purrincess have to sleep. Bye.
Marinette: Bye...
That night, Adrien couldn't sleep. No matter how many sheep he counted nothing seemed to work! What was he feeling? He never felt it before. Not as strong anyways...
But little did he know he was already starting to fall for the aspring fashion designer.
