Tina knocked on the brick wall in a odd pattern, the wall painted with a strange looking woman staring into a mirror, eyes moving around, and Newt, feeling strange without changing up his look, pointed his wand at the untied tie on his neck, and it tied up into a bow.
The eyes of the woman on the wall slid to the side and a real pair of eyes stared at them.
"Holy mother of--" Celeste cursed, jumping at the creepy sight in front of her.
They entered the door through the wall, walking into a bar like place filled with goblins, elves, wizards, witches, you name it.
Newt, hesitating, built up the courage to hold his arm out for Celeste to take, and, Celeste, smiling, took it, making Newt relax. Queenie and Jacob headed off for drinks, while Tina, Celeste, and Newt all settled at a table.
Everyone started to stare at the Tina and Celeste with suspicious looks, and, Celeste realizing who they all were, shrank down on her seat.
"We've arrested half the people here." Tina said cautiously.
"Cel, I know its not my business, but, I saw something, in that Death potion back there. I saw you and Tina hugging that Second Salemer boy."
Celeste looked to Tina for help, and Tina, smiled a little at the thought of Credence.
"His name is Credence." She answered. "His mother beats him."
"She beats all those kids she's adopted but she seems to hate him the most." Celeste said sadly.
"She was the no-maj you attacked?" Newt directed towards Tina.
"That's how I lost my job." Tina explained. "I went for her in front of a meeting of her crazy followers. They all had to be Obliviated. It was a big scandal."
"It sucks, because Tina sort of keeps me in check. She used to be the reason why I was never late or never missed a meeting, but, well, you know, I uh, forgot to attend a lot of meetings." Celeste added in sheepishly. "You know... I missed the meeting when Tina was taking us in right after we didn't Obliviate Jacob." It seemed like a year ago that breaking into the bank vault and performing a full Body-Bind Curse on Mr. Bingley had happened.
Newt chuckled, knowing that this was how Celeste used to be at Hogwarts, being late for almost every class despite being a straight A student, the teacher's had to make an exception for her being a good student.
Newt was snapped out of his thoughts when a short and stout goblin headed towards their table, beady eyes staring straight at the group, smoking a cigar between his pointy teeth. He settled down and leaned back. Celeste tugged at Newt's arm.
"I don't trust him." She whispered, looking to see Newt trying to give her a reassuring smile.
"So," The goblin--Gnarlak, leaned back. "you're the guy with the case full of monsters, huh?"
Newt looked down.
"News travels fast." He simply said. "I was hoping if you could tell me if theres been any--sightings. Tracks, anything."
"You got a pretty big price on your head, Mr. Scamander." Gnarlak replied. "Why should I help you, instead of turning you and your girlfriend in?"
Celeste, fuming and embarrassed at the same time, quickly took her hand away from Newt's arm, turning red. Newt had the same reaction.
"We're not--"
"--Yeah yeah, keep telling yourself that, maybe someday you might actually believe it." Gnarlak retorted.
"I'll take it I have to make it worth your while." Newt said smoothly.
"Mmm, let's consider it a cover charge."
