Hello, guys. I'm really really sorry for the late update. I'm working on the next chapter so rest assured I'll be posting it here soon. Hope all of you like this chapter.

Seriously, what has gotten into him? He makes me so confused. One minute he acted as if he was disgusted with me and the next he acted as if he actually wanted me. I can't wrap my head around it. Maybe he is deliberately trying to drive me crazy? Yeah, maybe that's it. Messing around with the new girl. Trying to mislead her and laughing behind her back for fun. Can my life be any more pathetic?
"You've been quiet. What are you thinking?" My dad asked.
"Oh, nothing much. It's just that..."
"What?"
I lean in on the car window enjoying the feel of the wind on my face. "I'm still getting used to the new house, the new school and the new people. I'm just not sure if I'll ever fit in."
"That's a pessimistic way of thinking."
You wouldn't say that if you know what's been happening in my life in these past few days, I thought to myself.
"You're just optimistic," I said instead and fell silent again.
"Hey kiddo, just give it some time. Sooner or later things will get better. I'm sure of it."
I arch an eyebrow at him and regretted it afterwards. I completely forgot I got a big cut above my eyebrow. It's a wonder I didn't feel any pain when I was struggling with Greg.
"You seem high spirited. Did something good happen at work today?" I said ignoring the pain.
"As a matter of fact, something good did happen. It seems that I got quite a heck of a recommendation from my previous company, the Boss willingly allowed me to take over a big project."
"Are you sure it's not because nobody wants to take the project?" I said sceptically.
"For your information little girl, your father is actually good in what he does."
I smiled. "I know. I know. I was just kidding."
"There's that smile. You haven't been yourself lately. Anything you want to talk about?" He looked over at me.
"No. I'm fine."
He shrugged and said, "Okay. When you're ready to talk you know where to find me kiddo." He winked and I rolled my eyes in response.
"Silly old man,"
"Hey, that's no way to talk to your dear father." He said with a playful glint in his eyes. I grin at him and fell silent again. It was silent the whole way back and I prefer it that way. Making small talk isn't really my strong suit even if that person is family.
"Here we are. Home sweet home," He said.
Dad went ahead of me and turned on the lights. It felt surreal that I'll actually be living in a house that looked like it came out of a fairy tale book.
"Are you hungry? I can make something real quick." Dad called out from the kitchen. By 'something' he meant spaghetti. It's the only food he can make without burning it to oblivion.
"Sure." I closed the door behind me and was halfway up the stairs when suddenly the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" I went back down to open the door. Standing in front of me was Jane, looking as perky as ever. I completely forgot that I promise myself to visit her. Well, considering that I had unlucky fortune these past few days, it's perfectly understandable if she didn't cross my mind.
