chapter 1
august 19 2009 in the 8th grade
"hey class the seat you sit in is the one your gonna stay in this year so pick wisely " Ms.Fuller said to the whole class walking in. I didn't know anyone but Calum but, he's not in my first period. I stood their looking confused " hey, you can sit by me" a girl with black hair and blue eyes said. " Yeah, sure thanks" I said to her smiling noticing that she was really pretty. " So, are you new to this school this year I've never seen you " she said whispering as the teacher was giving out the rules and procedures for this year. " Yeah " I whispered back . "cool oh by the way I'm Cynthia " she said finally smiling back ."I'm Luke" I answered back. I accidentally dropped my pencil and bent down to pick it up. My hand went down to feel around for the pencil instead of feeling wood I felt a soft hand on the pencil I looked up and then as she looked up her hair flew in my face. It smelt like peach shampoo. " you two pay attention and stop flirting" Ms.Fuller said to us making the whole class laugh. " oh here" she said shyly handing me my pencil . " thanks " I replied back to her. When she turned away to get her notebook I asked her if she wanted to hang out after school. " sure" she said smiling then turned away and starting writing what was on the board,I did the same. From that day forward we hung out everyday . I developed feelings for her . But then she moved away
and we lost contact.
2013 August 22nd
"Dude Cynthia's back" I just seen here at the coffee shop . " really I'll go talk to her her after school" I said excited that she was back I've liked/ loved her for years "OK man ask her out finally " Calum said with excitement. After school we walked to the coffee shop where Calum seen her working."Dude she's over their" Calum yelled " OK OK I'm gonna do it " I said walking into the coffee shop and seen she changed her hair style. Cynthia had her Ombre' hair in a bun wearing an apron. Her blue eyes turned to mine " oh Hi Luke come here" she said jumping up and down finding somewhere to put the dishes she was holding. "hey " I answered shyly my heart started pumping fast "umm bye " I ran out the door and felt Calum grab my arm. " you can't keep running away go back in there "he said in a speech giving way nudging me. I walked in and seen her running towards me wiping her hands with a towel. " hey " she said giving me a big hug causing my face to turn red. " hi , so your back " I asked her shyly putting my hand behind my head after she hugged me . " yep and I'm staying".
" So your not in school " I asked . " nope I got skipped up a grade I could but there would be no courses to take except electives , I'm just working here to get some money for college" she told me with a huge smile . " sooo... i wa-" she cut me off "follow me" she pulled my arm and started speed walking to a room in the back of the coffee shop. She went in her bag and grabbed her phone and a black Sharpie marker. I knew it was her bag because it had ladybugs on it and she loves them from what I remember. she pulled my arm and rolled my sleeve up and wrote her number ." Call me,I wanna hang out tomorrow you know catch up on things " she said with a smile snapping the cap of the marker back on . " ok sure " I answered reading the number in my head ." Now leave , my boss gets mad when I'm not working " she demanded giving me a little push. I ran out the room we were in and left the shop . " so did you ask her " I hear Calum whisper from a corner behind me . " no but check it out " I showed him her phone number that was on my arm. " I'm gonna call her tomorrow so we can hang out " " And tell her you love her " he added . We both laughed and started walking home. When I got home I put Cynthia in my contacts , ate, took a shower then fell asleep watching tv.
