"Is your drug addict husband here?" Amelia asked as Madeline opened the door. The Canadian glared at her sister. Leave it to her crazy American sister to find her in an isolated cabin in the Yukon.
"Tim is not a drug addict," Madeline responded with a slight hiss. She always got a bit defensive when it came to her Dutch husband. Amelia just rolled her eyes and laughed. That was when the Canadian heard an extra person laughing. She looked down to lay eyes on her nephew for the first time.
"Privet Aunt Madeline," Yurik said shyly as he stood next to his mother while hiding half his face in his blue scarf. He was adorable.
"How?" Was all she could say as she looked back and forth between her sister and her son. This child was shy and cute. How could he be her sister's son? How!?
Amelia just laughed again and made her way inside. Yurik followed quietly like usual. Over the past six months, Yurik had become quite used to his new life. He followed his hit woman mother around the world and it was quite the adventure. It was much more fun than being trapped in his father's house outside Moscow.
Sometimes though he felt like his mother needed him to take care of her more than the other way around.
"Here to leach off your sister again, Jones?" A gruff voice asked. A man with spiky blonde hair entered the room with a pipe in his mouth.
"Which one of us is leaching again weed head?" Amelia asked but the Dutchmen had already turned his attention to her son.
"Hi Uncle," Yurik whispered. His mother had never mentioned he had an uncle so he was a bit surprised.
"You don't have to call-ouch!" Amelia screamed as Madeline stomped on her foot. The Canadian sighed and turned to her nephew.
"Would like some hot chocolate?" She asked and his face lit up. He nodded happily and Madeline couldn't help but smile as she led him to the kitchen.
"He has Maddy's eyes," Tim stated as he watched his wife and nephew had for the kitchen.
"Not always," Amelia said following her son,"they have been becoming more blue lately. And when he's really happy they have tendency of tuning a bit more blue."
"You find this better than Ivan's purple I take it," Tim stated and Amelia glared at him. She didn't like him, but for some stupid reason her sister was hooked.
"So what do you do for a living Auntie?" Yurik asked as Amelia and Tim entered the kitchen.
"I'm retired, but I used to be a thief for hire. And your Uncle Tim is a transporter." Madeline answered as she handed him his hot chocolate. Yurik licked his lips and took a huge gulp. Amelia rolled her eyes; Tim was not family.
"Why don't you tell my sister what your favorite sport is Yurik?" Amelia said with a small smirk on her face. Madeline gave her sister an annoyed look. Why would she want him to do that?
"Hockey," Yurik said with a small whip cream mustache on his face. Madeline blinked and then she turned to her sister.
"Can I keep him?" The Canadian asked. Amelia burst out laughing and Tim smiled slightly.
"Sorry he's mine," Amelia said still laughing as Yurik blushed,"go get your own." She regretted it as soon as she Tim and Madeline's eyes connect from across the room. Her sister could do so much better and it annoyed her to no end!

"Big Brother!" Natalia yelled,"you could send me to get Piotr back! Then you'll marry me and we could be a family!" Ivan felt his stomach turn into knots. Couldn't she just do something else, but bother him with that?
"I need to think," upon hearing her brother's serious tone Natalia quickly left the room. Ivan tapped his gloved fingers on his wood desk. How had this become so damn complicated? Okay, maybe he had underestimated Amelia. No, even Ivan had to admit that he had completely and utterly underestimated at how capable she was at protecting and keeping their son. At this rate, Ivan would have to go and get Piotr back himself. And at the moment, he was not at liberty to do so. There were prices to be payed when you were involved with the mafia.
He sighed, but smiled slightly as bits and pieces of an actual plan came together in his mind.

Amelia laughed as she watched her sister and son play in snow. They were like to two animals who were back in their natural habitats. The American didn't like the cold all that much and preferred to watch from the warm cabin. Not to mention Tim went to town to pick up some more food.
"Idiot," she mumbled,"saying I'd eat them out of house and home." Amelia closed her eyes and pulled one of her sister's blanket's tighter around her. Why couldn't her sister be staying farther south? Like in British Columbia or something?
"So has your mother been taking you on missions with her?" Yurik just nodded as he sat on the white ground. His aunt sat right next to him; both tired from having made a fort, built a snowman, and had a snow ball fight.
"What are some of your favorite places to go?" Madeline asked just enjoying the stillness of the snow covered world around them.
"The States, Japan, Ireland, Israel, France, and here," he replied after a moment of thinking. As much as Yurik liked those places, he always struggled a little with home sickness. The States had become a second home to him now, but still it was nice to be back in the snow. He felt at home here.
Yurik could remember remember the year before he had been ice skating on a pond near the house. He snuck out when his father had been out. The six year old had made the mistake of skating on the center and fell into the freezing water. The next thing he could remember was his papa's strong arms around him and Russian curse words making vapor clouds in the air.
