It had been a full year now. Ivan tapped his fingers on his desk. His son was now eight. And Ivan wasn't able to see him. The Russian threw a half empty vodka bottle at the wall.
"I'm done playing," Ivan hissed. He was going to the states and this was going to end. With him taking back what was rightfully his.

Amelia Jones smiled as she help her son steady the snippet rifle. This was the first time she had ever let him help with a job before. The blonde usually left her son at a hotel, but now he was eight. Her little boy was growing up. And she had missed out on most of it thanks to someone!
"Mama?" Yurik excitedly whispered,"what now?" Amelia shook the thoughts out of her head and got back to her work of being a hit man and a mother.
"Alright," Amelia said with a huge smile,"now you look through the scope at our target." Yurik nodded as he did what he was told. His mother had him practice with hunting animals for weeks in preparation for this, but since this was an actual job that his mother was getting paid for she guided him through it. It was his first human kill.
"I see him," Yurik whispered seeing their target through the scope. The idiot hadn't paid some debts to the Italian mafia.
"K," she said with a serious look in her bright blues eyes,"now turn off the safety." Amelia watched her son push the button while still looking a his target.
"Good," the hit woman congratulated,"now take a deep breath. You won't miss cause I'm guiding you okay." Yurik took a deep breath and forced his self to be calm.
"Fire," Amelia whispered and her son pulled the trigger. The man dropped dead. Amelia smiled and hugged her son as she pulled him down so neither of them would be seen.
"You did it!" Amelia congratulated only to feel you son shake in her arms. His face filled with sicken horror. Knowing they had to move, Amelia picked up her son and raced down the stairs and to her car.
It was silent for a very long time and Amelia was starting to get worried. Why was he so upset!? Had she done something wrong!? Oh dear, maybe she should have picked up one of those parenting books!?
"You're thinking out loud again," Yurik commented,"and I don't think any of those books would have had chapter on teaching your kid how to be an assassin." Once again, Yurik felt more like he was the one taking care of his mom.
"Then what's the..."
"You said it would be like shooting those deer out in the woods."
"Yurik..."
"Why does it hurt? You and papa enjoy it!?" Amelia pulled over sharply.
"It always hurts the first time." Amelia assured and pulled her son into a hug,"and please don't compare me to him." She rested her hands on the sides of his face.
"I love you. So much. I wanted you to be able to choose your fate, but your father is going to come after you. And if you are not able to defend yourself...." She was quiet for a moment.
"He will decide your fate for you and I won't be able to save you this time." Yurik only nodded with tears still in his eyes. He couldn't leave her now. She needed someone to keep her company and sane just as much as he needed her to raise him.
"I love you to mama," Yurik said with a sad smile,"now we had better go." His mother smile at him and started driving again.

"Nothing like home sweet home!" Amelia announced as they entered their house in upstate New York. Yurik rolled his eyes at his over the top mother. Then he felt uneasy.
"Is something wrong?" Amelia asked her son as they stopped in the doorway.
"I smell vodka," Yurik whispered. His mother's blue eyes widened.
"Shit." Amelia grabbed her son's arm and raced out to the car. Before they could get to it, Natalia had already slit the tires.
"I don't think big brother said you could leave yet." Natalia hissed,"hello nephew."
"Hi Aunt Natalia." Yurik whispered and hid behind his mother's leg. Amelia glared at the other female.
"You both need to go in side," Katyusha said coming out of the shadows,"now." Amelia growled while she could take down both women when Ivan came out then she would be royally screwed.
"Come Piotr," Natalia stated as she began walking toward the house. Yurik looked up at his mother and she nodded to him. He held her hand tightly and they walked toward the house together with Katyusha following.
Amelia and Yurik both felt their stomachs drop when Katyusha closed the door behind them. They walked through the hallway to the living room where Ivan sat on the couch. Toris, Ravis, and Eduard stood behind it. Ivan blew a puff from his cigar as he looked at his old lover and son.
"Come closer, Piotr," Ivan ordered.
"No," Amelia hissed at him as she squeezed her son's hand. Yurik felt like he was gonna be sick; this was going to end with one of his parents dead and he knew it.
"I don't think I was talking to you Amelia," Ivan hissed at the blonde before turning back to his son,"now boy." Yurik took a step forward, but his mother pulled him back.
"I said no," Amelia said angrily. The trio and Ivan's sisters were all going for their weapons.
"Mama," Yurik yelled,"please don't!" Amelia looked at her son's pleading eyes. He loved her to much to let her die like this.
"Listen to our son sunflower," Ivan stated bluntly. Amelia paled considerably and shut her eyes. Far to many memories followed that nickname. Nights full of sex and alcohol and mornings of sleepy sweet words and money.
