Dedication: Thank you for all your support and enthusiasm. You have really kept me motivated to continue writing this story. Thank you again.

"Princess Thalia!" Phil, one of my many servants called as I barged through the front doors.

"Ugh, what do you want?" I say, annoyed.

Emotionless as always he continues, "we were all worried about you. Where have you been?"

Sighing I reply, "I was out in the garden. Fell asleep that's all." Brushing past him I run up the stairs.

"Princess, wait! You have to prepare for your dress fitting!" The servant called me back.

Turning around, I treat the servant to a menacing glare. "I don't care." With saying that I stomp up the rest of the stairs. Hoping for some peace and quiet in my room. Unfortunately my pleas were lost. Almost as soon as I close the white oak door behind me, there were knocks on my door.

"Princess Thalia, the queen demands to see you." Amelia called through the doors. She was my mothers servant.

Sighing, I yell back, "I don't care! If my mother wants me badly enough she can come here." As I stood there I heard Amelia's footsteps scurry away. Finally. Some time to myself. Looking down at my dress, I realize that it was filthy. Shaking my head, I walk to my closet and look for my favorite summer dress.

After a few minutes of rummaging through my clothes I find it. It is a lemon yellow color and it hugs my frame perfectly. Some would call it plain because there was no details on it, but I thought it was lovely.

Stripping off my dirty dress I slip the new one over my head and slide on a matching pair of ballet flats I had retrieved from the floor. Just in time too, for I heard yet another knock on my door.

"Thalia?" It was my mother. "Would you come out please? I need to talk to you."

Groaning I cross over to my door and wrench it open. "Here I am mother. What do we need to talk about?"

"Cut the attitude and follow me." My mother said that then started to walk away. "We don't have time for lounging around. Your birthday is less then a month away and we need to get everything prepared and ordered."

Glaring at my mothers retreating back I say, "I'm not going. You have no right to say to who, or when I'm going to marry."

Walking back to me my mother grabs my arm and tried to drag my along with her. I planted my feet and didn't budge.

"I am not going." I repeat trying to drill it into her head.

"Thalia! I don't want to fight with you. Would you please just do it, for me?"

I shake my head, "no. Nothing you can say or do can make me get married to that jerk."

Closing her eyes my mother says, "how about this. Invite him to dinner and get to know him. Before you start putting labels on someone you don't even know."

"See! I don't even know him and you expect me to get married to him! What kind of parent are you!" I shout at my mother, anger starting to pound in my heart. Before I could stop myself tears start falling from my eyes.

"Oh Thalia. I'm so sorry. Shh, shh. It's all going to be OK." It was a magical transformation. One minute she was the stern queen and the next she was the caring mother that's there for who daughter.

"No it's not. Why do you want me to marry Luke. I don't even like him." Some how I managed to speak through the sobs that wracked my body.

Kneeling down to were I collapsed, my mother said, "I've had my reasons Thalia. I never told you this but one of the oldest laws states that if the princess isn't married by her eighteenth birthday, then she has to give up her royal title."

Looking up at my mom, tears still pouring from my blue eyes, I asked, "then why Luke? Why did it have to be him? Why couldn't you have told me about this sooner? I could have looked for someone I actually liked."

"Well, when your father died, Luke's father and I made a deal. Basically I promised that you would marry Luke."

My jaw dropped. I was stunned.

Dun dun daa.

Sorry that it has been forever and a day since I have uploaded, but I had writers block and I was insanely busy. As always I am open to any ideas anyone has, so just let me know and I'd be happy to try and fit them in. Oh and I'm not sure about the servants having names so I would appreciate any ides on that. Anyways I hope to be uploading every 1 or 2 weeks so stay tuned.
