Fyre POV

Blood. It's everywhere, being burned away by fire. A shadow of a man appears, roughly 50 feet in front of me, just staring. His head cocked to the side. I can hear a voice in my head laughing. A cold, dark, evil laugh. I start to back away slowly, as he takes several steps forward. Scrambling backwards, I trip over debris, landing with a thud. Suddenly he's in front of me, kneeling so that he can look me directly in the eyes. It's too dark for me to see his face, but i can see his eyes. They're burning red, like they're reflecting the fire all around us. I scream.

I wake up with a gasp, sitting straight up. I see Acheron in the chair by the bed, sleeping. I swing my legs of the bed, careful not to wake him. When i get to the bathroom, I lean on the sink, looking in the mirror. "I look dead" I think. My hair is stringy and lifeless. My eyes are dull, with no spark of life in them, and my lips are chapped. I'm more pale than usual with red spots on my cheeks, like too much blush, and dark circles under my eyes.
Splashing water in my face, I close my eyes and breathe. "It was just a dream," I whisper to myself, "It was only a dream." Taking a shaky breath, I open my eyes.

Ash POV
I wake up and she's not in the bed. Worried, i look in the hall and don't see her anywhere. A nurse sees me and asks if I need any help. When I tell her my girlfriend wasn't in the room when I woke up, she looks worried. We rush back to the room only to find Fyre sitting on the bed, watching TV. The nurse then leaves.

"Where the hell were you?" I demand.

Looking confused, she says, "I was in the bathroom, Ash. Why do you look so worried?"

"I don't," I say, then come clean. "I had a dream last night. It was about fire and ice. And you," i touch her cheek.

"What about me?" She asks.

"In the dream, I heard the poem "Fire and Ice" by Robert Frost, being recited, over and over again. 'Some say the world will end in fire. Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire, I hold with those who favor fire. But if I had to perish twice, I would say that ice is also great, and would suffice.' then the world split it two. You were on one side, I was on the other. The side you was on lit up in fire. Everything got enveloped by it. Including you."

"Oh. What about the side you was on?"she asks, curiously.

"The side I was on started freezing. Slowly. Frost began to spread, covering everything. The trees, flowers, ground, buildings, signs, cars, people. Everything. Right before I was frozen, I saw you smile, then jump into the fire. Laughing."

"So, let's get this clear. In your dream, you get frozen, literally, and I jump into fire while laughing. Well, my name may be Fyre, but that don't mean that I'm going to jump into one."

"Why are you so scared?" I ask quietly. I can see the fear on her face.

"What are you talking about? I'm not scared," she laughs but it's shaky.

"Fyre, you know you can tell me anything, right?" She looks nervous, which has me worried.

She smiles a tight smile, "Of course I know, Ash."

Unknown POV
Surprised. She lied to his face. He knows what he is. He should tell her before it's too late. Hearing Acheron say he's going to get her something to eat, I scramble away from the door, making it look like I was just walking by

When he gets into the hall, he looks around. Sort of like he can sense my presence. "Too bad he and his skills aren't developed enough to spot me," I muse to myself. "Goodbye, Acheron," I think, "I'll see you again. Very soon."
