ASH POV

She looks so peaceful, laying there. Why isn't she that peaceful all the time? She needs to relax. I could see something of with her yesterday. I need to know what it is.

"I told you not to do it," said a voice.

"I don't know what you're talking about," i hear my voice reply.

"Yes, actually, you do," the voice behind me says, closer now. Turning around, I see Lucius. A six foot tall man with tattoos that move under his skin. I may be stronger than him, but he could sure as hell best me in a fight. His voice was to soft when he said that.

"Ok, so maybe I do? So what? I saw potential, just like you saw in me," I say with mock bravado.

"How many times do I have to tell you the rules? Until I make you a certified master, which won't be for a while, you have to follow the code. 'No lovers, no allies, no deciples'," he recites.

"She's not my friend. She's not a lover. I just saw potential and saved her from her life. And I'm sure that add soon as you found out, you dug up all the information her you could find," I saw with a twinge of annoyance.

With a deep breath, he sighs. "Yes, I did. Not that there was much too find."

"What do you mean?" I ask, "there's information on everyone in the world. Unless they've been ghosted anyway."
Will put the definition of the word ghosted at the bottom.

"I know that, Acheron! I can tell you that she hasn't been ghosted. There's just nothing on her but basic information. And even that's sketchy. Here's all I have on her," he throws a file on a side table. "See what you can make of it."

Taking the file, I open it. "How is this all you could find?"

"I told you it was just the basic information," Lucius says simply.

"'Fyre Isabella Margaret Valentine'," I read, "'born October 31, 1999. Died at birth. Parents: Dean Williams (whereabouts unknown) and Samantha Valentine (decreased). Siblings: none.' how the fuck does this make sense? When I asked her full name she said she didn't have a middle name, and now she has two? Why does she use her mothers' last name? And why does it say she died at birth?" I rant.

"Slow down, Ash. From what I could tell, she had no idea that she has a middle name, much less two. I'm not sure why she has her mothers' name, but I did find out that her mother is dead. And as for the part that says she died when she was born, her death had to have been faked. That's all I could find out about her, but i could find something of her mother. Her suicide note. Apparently, she was told that her daughter died a few minutes after she was born. She was broken up with grief and needed her husband, but he left her saying that he was going to find someone who could give birth to a baby that would survive and be a boy. That definitely didn't help her. She wrote her suicide note, then hung herself in the room that was supposed to be her daughters," he says looking slightly sympathetic.

"How an I supposed to tell her this?"

"You're not. You can't tell her. Not till we know more." He sighs.

"You don't understand. She made me promise there would be lies."

"It's not a lie if she doesn't ask about it. It's just an omission of the truth."

With a snap, i look up at the door. Getting up, i quietly walk over to the door, so I don't wait Fyre up, and look out. There was no one in the hall, but I can't help but feel that we are being watched. Sighing, I sit down. "Who are you, Fyre? Who are you really?" I whisper to myself.

Unknown POV

He can't know who she is. If he finds out, then she's dead. We all are. And I can't let that happen. Soon she will be strong her abilities will start to develop. Either she will fix everything that will go wrong, or she will destroy everything. We can only hope that it's the latter.
