Alphas: The Journey Begins

Chapter 9

The wolves were all stunned. Everything just happened.

"Sparkfur, how? How did you do that?" Pepper questioned.

"I, really don't know.. When I realized that it was him who killed my sister.. I just.. something inside of me struck me. Like I was meant to use my powers.." He replied.

"I wonder when we can use our powers.," Blaze grunted.

"We'll figure that out soon enough," Frostfang answered.

They continued to walk, through the mountains. 

Eventually after they caught prey, and journeyed some more, it was time to rest. The sun was going down, and it was dusk.

"Hey guys, where are we gonna sleep?" Pepper questioned. 

"Maybe a hollow of some sort?" Frostfang said.

"Were in the mountains, idiot." Blaze shot back.

Frostfang let out a growl. She curled her lip and her ears went down.

"Don't call me that. There could be a hollow in a valley," She snorted.

"Frostfang has a point.." Pepper agreed.

"No! She doesn't! She just thinks she's a goody two shoes, because she thinks she's smarter than everyone,"

"Stop it with your attitude!" Frostfang yelled.

Blaze then tensed his muscles and pounced on Frostfang. They wrestled, and rolled around on the stone ground. Blaze bit Frostfang's ear. 

"Ouch!" She said.

Suddenly Pepper jumped into the battle and split them up.

"Stop it you two!"

Frostfang scrambled up from the fight and spat at Blaze. Blaze stared at her with anger.

"Your lucky my ear isn't bleeding," Frostfang barked.

"Your lucky your're so weak! I couldn't feel a thing," Blaze shot back.

"Hey, bird brains, stop arguing and find us a place to sleep tonight will ya?" Sparkfur teased.

Frostfur relaxed and lead the Alphas to a cracked and muddy dip in the ground, surrounded by dead trees and cobwebs.  

"This will work for tonight," Frostfang told them.

"Yeah, what a paradise!" Pepper said in sarcasm.

The wolves leaped down and made make-shift beds. The Alphas curled up, ready for a long sleep. Frostfang lifted her head and looked at Blaze.

Whats wrong with him?

She looked at Pepper, and suddenly wondered what happened in her life. They all came here for a reason, and each wolf had their story, but what could be Pepper's?

Then she looked at Sparkfur and smiled, glad that he was one of the chosen ones. But also felt sorrow, and pain for him. Remembering how his sister died.

Then she remembered her story. 

Her parents.

But then she caught a glimpse of something else, felt like something else was missing. 

But what was it?
