Hero with a frozen heartbeat

It's battle day and I'll be on the mountain. I dress warmly and I meet Emmett downstairs. He looks so serious and stern, I love that look. I follow everybody outside and I climb into Emmett's jeep.

Edward, Bella, and I meet Jacob at the foot of the mountain. Edward kisses Bella's forehead and sends her on with Jacob. Edward looks at me and he picks me up. He flashes up the mountain side and we stops at the tent.

--- Edwards POV--//

I hate looking at Valeria after Alice's bison, especially today. Today, she is going to die. The newborns won't kill her, the temperature will. Emmett is dying inside, he closed us all out when Alice repeated it.

I sit in the tent talking to Bella as I watch Valeria shiver bad. Jacob steps in as Bella begins to freeze, complaining of not getting sleep due to all the teeth clattering. Of course, he doesn't even notice Valeria. Stupid dog. He lays behind Bella and wraps his arms around her. She falls asleep and we talk.

The next day, I step out with Bella and Valeria; Bella and Jacob walk to the mountain edge and chat. Bella tells Jacob to kiss her and, of course, he does just that.

"You're marrying him!?" Jacob yells at Bella after hearing our conversation.

"You knew he was listening, didn't you?" Bella scolds me.

"He needed to know." I shrug simply.

Jacob goes off to the gift and I see Victoria come onto the mountain. We fight until I smell blood, the sweetest smell. Bella is sacrificing herself so I can defeat Victoria. I break Victoria's head off and I throw a zippo lighter on her body.

I watch Valeria's life slips away. Her heart is slowing down fast and her ace is turning blue. I wish I could help her, but Carlisle says not to. He wants to be the one to change her.

I hear a howl of pain rip through the air right when Valeria's heart stops. I tense at the deafening sound of Valeria dying as Emmett walks into the tent.

"Jacob is hurt, Carlisle is easing to Billy's." Emmett says. "I'll carry Valeria home."

I pick up my dead Valeria and I whimper. I close my eyes before I look down at her again. Her skin is blue and she is froze, her heart has officially stopped. I flash through the trees and I run all the way home.

I bring Valeria up to Carlisle's office an I lay her down. Edward and Alice burst through the doors.

"Carlisle says for you to change her." Edward tells me. "He has to re-break Jacob's ribs."

I nod and I look down at my princess warily. I lower my head. I bite her neck once, her legs five times and her arms twice. I stand back up and I inject my venom using a needle. I sit down on a chair and I just wait.
