Telling my dad and Mike didn't go as planned. No one said anything and no tears shed. I got completely ignored and sat in my room, trying not to cry. I picked up my phone and dialed the number for the oncologist.
"Fox Chase Philly, how can I help you?" a cheery female voice asked on the other end.
"Hi my name is Aria Mongomery, and I was calling to set up an appointment,"
"Alright. Are you calling for tests, Miss Montgomery?" she asked.
"Yep. What is the closest thing you have?" I asked.
"ARIA! GET OFF YOUR PHONE AND GET DOWN HERE!" yelled my mom. 'Great... Dad called her...'
"The closest thing I have is Friday at 3:30. Does that work for you?"
"ARIA! NOW!"
"That's great. Thank you so much," I said, hanging up. I ran downstairs, fearing looking my mom in the face, "How can I help you, Ella?" I asked sarcastically.
"Who were you on the phone with? It better not have been Ezra," she said.
"I was making an appoinment with an oncologist if you must know. Wait, what's your problem with Ezra now?"
"Mom, let her go," Mike said, stepping inbetween us, "She might be sick," I stared at my mom, biting my cheek.
"I can't stand this," I said, running upstairs. Mikes moves to follow me, "Don't," I hiss. I grab a bag and begin stuffing clothes in it. I curse under my breath. This is the last thing I need...
I sling the bag over my shoulder, grab my keys and, and go back downstairs.
"Oh no, you are NOT going anywhere!" my mom said, grabbing my arm. I twisted out of her grasp.
"Who's going to stop me?" I turned and walked out the door. 'Ezra, I have to see Ezra." I drove to his apartment complex and ran upstairs. Knocking on his door, I bounced on the balls of my feet.
"Ezra?" I said, knocking again.
"One second!" he yelled.
"Hurry please," tears spilled from my eyes.
"Aria? What happened?" Ezra asked, pulling me inside.
"I can't do it. Dad called my mom and she decided to yell at me and -" the edge of my vision got fuzzy, and my legs began to buckle.
"Aria?!" Ezra said, fear enveloping his voice, and his arms envoloping me. My vision went black, and Ezra's voice became distant like it was submerged in a pool of water.
***
"What did you do to her?!" I heard Ezra yell. I slowly opened my eyes to blinding white light, "I don't care if she didn't tell you, there was no reason for you to scream at her!"
"Ezra..." I croaked. He hung up the phone, and walked over to me, "What happened?" I asked.
"You drove over and began explaining what happened at home. What did happened, Aria?" he asked, stroking my hair.
"I was up in my room, talking to the oncologist, setting up an appointment, and my mom showed up and yelled for me to get downstairs. I went downstairs and she asked me who I was talking to, and she said it better not have been you. I just don't know what to do anymore Ezra... I'm not moving with Mom, and I can't stand living with Dad,"
"Move in with me, Aria," Ezra said.
"What?" I asked' shocked.
"Move in with me, at the apartment,"
"Ezra, you can't be serious,"
"Oh, but I am. It's the only option,"
"I guess you're right... I'm not going back home, and I'm definately not moving to Sacremento," I feel content, knowing I'll be closer to Ezra, but the contentment is short lived when my parents walked in.
"No, out," I hissed, "I don't want you here. I can't stand to look at either of you," I turn my head towards Ezra, who has an angry look in his eyes.
"Get out!" he yells. I grab his hand in an attempt to calm him.
"Ezra, don't. I'll take care of it," he squeezes my hand in response, not trusting his voice.
"Aria, you have no right to keep this from us," my mother said.
"How was I supposed to tell you when I don't even know if I'm sick yet? You especially, Mom. You never call to ask me how I am, so you led me to believe that you don't care," I can't stop tears from springing from my eyes.
"This is what you do to her Ella," Ezra said, entwining his fingers with mine, "So get out,"
"I wish you wouldn't talk about me that way, Aria," my mother said, completely dodging Ezra. We were all saved by the doctor knocking on the door.
"Miss Montgomery, I must apologize, but I had the oppurtunity to send your tests to a lab. I'm very sorry to say that you have leukemia," Everything crashes at that moment. I don't know how long I have to live...
