GOD EATER: The 24th Unit

LOG: 04 - The Hunter, Hunted

A figure springs up from bed, sweating and panting, his eyes widen from fear.

"Dammit..." he takes a pill sitting on his nightstand and drinks it. "Is my God Arc making me unstable?" The figure stands up and puts his shirt on, he walks out of his room and straight to the elevator, as the steel door opens he looses balance and falls into the elevator, with knees shaking he stands up and presses the "Laboratory Floor" button. As soon as he exits the elevator he notices Soma sitting in the lounge area drinking cream soda, "Why are you here? Visiting them?"

"Yeah"
"This late at night?"
"Soma..sir... have you ever..... fought a Corrosive Hannibal?"
"More like the 'he' took it down"
"The Crimson Vanguard?"
"Yes, do you believe he took on that thing alone, though he did insist he fought alongside a recruit named 'Ren' but records don't show any recruits named 'Ren'"
"I see"
"Despite the Captain's cool demeanor he always did the craziest things, he'd put his life on the line to save someone like me..... I see the same thing in you, you might be a mess of a leader right now but you've rushed to their side in their time of need, that's how a leader should be" Soma stands up and throws an empty can of soda at the bin. "I spent too much time here, later"

He says as he returns to Dr. Sakaki's office to research on the New-Type Aragami.

Jay touches the scar on his chest, left by the Hannibal. "Protect everyone.... huh..." He enters the Sick Bay to visit Vlad and Mayu which both seemed to be stable. Vlad was asleep while Mayu was stuffing her mouth with rations.

Upon seeing him Mayu, immediately hides the food and tries to welcome the captain "Captun! Mawu Hiwekawa wepowting fo duty (Captain! Mayu Hidekawa reporting for duty)" Jay felt relieved and chuckles "Don't talk with your mouth full, and reporting for DUTY? you're confined in the Sick Bay for a few days" he uses his sleeve to wipe the mashed potatoes on Mayu's cheek.

"Don't eat like a slob"
"Sorry"
"Hey, did you see it? The Aragami?"
"Sorry Captain, I passed out when I slammed into the wall, but I caught a glimpse..... it was standing like a human being and..... it was..... purple eyes.... sorry I can't remember anything else"

"It's fine" he gives her a head pat "You go get some rest" he waves goodbye as he exits the room. "Sorry" a single word came from the seemingly sleeping Vlad, "You're awake?" Mayu springs up out of surprise.

"I almost got you killed"
"Don't worry about it, matter of fact you saved me, I would've been 'Roasted Mayu' if you didn't sensed it"
"Thanks..."

Jay goes back to his room and wears his uniform then proceeds to the Branch Director Office. "So you made up your mind"

"Dr...... I'm going after it..."

"Then I guess there's no stopping you.....it's in the Wailing Plains as of the moment"

Jay hurries to the God Arc Storage Area .

"Ah wait!...... Take the 1st Unit with you..." but Jay was already out of the office.

After taking his God Arc, he heads to the garage to use one of the trucks. "I'll get you..."

Wailing Plains

Jay gets out of the truck and continues down to the storm area, strong winds and rains falls endlessly.

Jay enters one of the old buildings, waiting for the Aragami to show up, 40 minutes have passed and nothing happened, Jay grew more impatient and decides to head back to base. From the storm, a ray of light appears heading straight for Jay, he jumps out of the way. He changes his Arc to gun form and fires several rounds into the storm, it made the sound of metal clashing against each other.  The Aragami jumps out into the open.

"What the hell is that?!" Jay steps back as to what seemed to be a new Aragami appears to be. It had a similar body to a  Quadraiga but it's head was that of an Arda Nova, it's front had the Arda Nova Deity's face on it, the Deity opens its mouth and the same type of light heads straight to Jay, he blocks it but the impact and force pushes him back.

"What the?! It's strong!" As he puts his shield down the Aragami was already running towards him, he swings his God Arc at the beast but the hit just deflected on the Aragami, leaving nothing but a small dent. The Aragami laughs at Jay, "You wanna play like that, huh" He jumps back whilst switching the gun-form's ammunition to blast-type bullet. He fires it at the Aragami's face, blinding it for a second, which he uses to move out of sight.

"I have to get the  hell outta here" he pulls out a flashbomb and jumps out of hiding, he throws said flashbomb near the Aragami's face, giving him enough time to reach the truck, he jumps out of the way as missiles flew towards and hits the truck, completely destroying it.

"Damn...!" He looks back only to find the same Aragami staring at him with an angry expression. "What? Pissed off?"

The Aragami was about to charge at him when it stopped and looked around, similar to the Sekhmets he fought the other day, it disengages from combat and flees.

"Huh?.... It... ran away...?" Helicopter noises entered Jay's attention, he looks up only to find a FENRIR helicopter, along with the Crimson Vanguard.

"Was it afraid of him?" The helicopter lands to pick him up and they head back to base.

"Why'd you go by yourself?"
"That Aragami..... that Hannibal, might be the Aragami I've been hunting down for years"
"And getting yourself killed was a good idea?"
"I heard you took it on by itself"
"I didn't, a recruit named 'Ren' helped me"
"Soma said that there was never a recruit named 'Ren"
"Hahaha, well you can say he wasn't really a recruit... he's... Lindow's God Arc"
"Excuse me sir?"
"I'll explain it another time, unto the reason why I came here"
"Huh?"
"You couldn't damage the Aragami, right?"
"It was another new-type....."
"That's not an excuse, your God Arc, can be penetrate anything.... You just have to believe"
"Believe...?"
"God Eater Jay Kisaragi, do you want to be stronger?"
"Yes... Please make me stronger"

An appearance by yet another new-type Aragami, can the God Eaters stop this impending threat to the God Eaters of the Far East Branch?
