Chapter 4: Spells

Your POV

The time of the tourney game has come and Raven cheered a lot. By a lot, I mean a heck damn lot. She's even smiling more than she usually does and it is rather unsettling. Red and Jake had been scoring and the team was happy about that, Carlos and Jay too. As soon as it was time out and the players went to their benches to rest up, Raven ran towards them and started giving them cookies and water in which they all gladly took. They chatted with her for a bit before the whistle sounded and they had to get back to the game. Raven happily jogged towards me, her grin was starting to sicken me. "What was all that?" I asked, raising a brow. "Just wanted to get chummy with the players. It's good for trust." She shrugs and gets back to our routine with the other cheerleaders.

The game ended with our team winning, they all cheered and the crowd was going nuts! Red and Jake came running towards us and gave us a hug in which Raven and I fell in disgust. "Gross, man! You guys are all sweaty!" I exclaimed, pushing Red off of me. Raven gave Jake a headbutt in which he simply laughed off. Typical them, really. Jay and Carlos were walking towards us but when I said Hi to Carlos he simply ignored me. Like I wasn't even there. Okay ouch, man. Ouch.

"Hey Raven." He greets her, Jay raised a brow and looked at me questioningly. I shrugged at him and shook my head, indicating that I too, had no idea. "Oh Hi, Carlos!" She chimed, her eyes glowing to the slightest. "I wanted to ask you something." Carlos blushed and rubbed the back of his neck. Red and Jake had been giving me reactions like, "What the fuck?" "What's going on?" "I thought he liked you?" And so on. I thought so too and I'm just as confused. I wonder if my facial reaction agrees with me. "Go ahead, Dog boy." Raven chuckles, placing a hand on her hip. "Will you go out with me?" Carlos blurted out. Raven nods and kisses his cheek.

I glared at Raven, she then grabs Carlos by the hand and runs towards God knows where and as if I'd fucking care anyways. She can continue the plan on her own. I have business to take care of anyways. I heaved a sigh and shrugged at the three boys in front of me. "You guys wanna hang out while the girls are out? I heard Mal and Evie are having a double date or something." I proposed and of course the idiots said yes. They just saw my plan shatter. Well, Jay saw something entirely different. He saw my heart shatter. In his eyes at least. I still couldn't care less.

When we got to the guy's room, the started playing video games. Jay and Jake at least, Red and I were talking about Raven. "What happened earlier? I thought. I KNEW he was gonna ask you out. He said so himself." Red stated with a look of disbelief. I shrugged. "I'm not very likeable. It's chill." I state. Red raises a brow at me, as if asking me what I really think. "Fine. Raven is a bitch. She always is. Why is she even my best friend? She's probably doing this to piss me off or something! But knowing her she would just-" "Get tired of him." Red completed with a laugh. "Yes. That. Also, who got the part for the Prince in our little play?" I changed the subject because I'm not really in the mood to talk about my best friend's bullshit right now. "I did." He grins cheekily. "If anything. You look like a male version of Ariel so what the exact fuck?" I laugh as he pouts.

As the door opens everybody stops what they were doing. Raven walks in all alone with that same grin on her face. "Hi guys!" She chimed, placing the cookie container she had earlier on the table. I rolled my eyes at her and she grinned wider, as if that was even possible. "What's the big deal, Sharkface?" She asks with a teasing pout. I glance at Jay who scowled then looked away from her. Even Jake looked disappointed. "You spelled him, didn't you?" I ask flatly. "Now why would I do that?" She asks innocently. "To piss me off? As a prank? Maybe you're bored again. I can make more reasons as of why." She starts laughing. "What?" "It's just- Are you jealous?" She asks, wiping away a tear. Heck no! Why would I be?! I'm not even into the guy. This girl is crazy! "Why would I be?" I scoff back at her.

She crosses her arms above her chest with a confident grin. "Then you wouldn't mind if I date Carlos?" "Not at all. Marry him for all I care." "Then I will." "Fine." "Fine." She walks out of the room and now the guys are staring at me. "Wow." Jake exhales deeply. "Wow indeed." I reply. "Is she always like that?" Jay asks with a frown. "Whenever she wants to piss Y/N off, yes. She likes you though. I can tell." Red lightly punches Jay's arm, making him smile.

The day ended with me returning to my room, the guys separated, and Raven came back into the room afterwards. I laid there on my bed silently as I played around with my magic, singing Poor Unfortunate Souls under my breath. Raven didn't try to talk to me either, she just fiddled with her spell book.

I felt my phone vibrate, showing me a text message from Carlos. How'd he even know my number?

Sorry about earlier. Didn't hear hear you.

Apparently you didn't see me either.

Are you okay?

I'm good. Had fun with Raven
today? She seemed happy.

No reply after that. I took that as a sign to go to sleep. I have to practice the play tomorrow.
