Summer Nights

Sitting here in the cover of night
With a bear pounding in my head
Matching the beat of my heart
The pulse in my veins
I feel at peace
I breathe in the cool night air
I close my eyes
And revel in the peace
I look up at the stars
I think of you
I wonder if your looking at them too
The cool summer breeze caresses my skin
I think I hear the sound of your voice on the wind
I lay back in a bed of grass
Under a dark but beautiful summer sky
Filled with a million stars
The stars glitter down at me
In their cold soft light
I sight and sigh in content
In the beautiful summer night
