Reggie

A new start

This story is dedicated to Ravens_Eve_29 a good and loyal friend. Legendary4Life for helping me through the hurdles. And indigodeer a kind and loving sister. And of course Reggie himself who is with us now living happily.
I sat in the corner of the room away from the other kittens. I had lived in this room for as long as i can remember. Sitting here as though I was waiting for nothing. I stalked away from my brother trying to reach me and hopped onto the humans bench. I tucked my paws under my fur and closed my eyes.
"Hey you!"
I heard my brother yell from below. He was more of a eater than I was if you know what I mean so he struggled to jump onto the bench. I pretended to be asleep but he managed to climb his way up. He prodded me with one of his white paws. My brother had a more complex coat than I. He was black with beautiful Amber and green mixed eyes as well as white paws as though he had just been walking in the dense snow. I lifted my head and yelled cranky.
"What!?"
Brother was usually calmer than I so he responded with.
"You know while your here moping the humans are feeding us."
He paused and went on.
"Why don't you..be a part of the family?"
I snorted.
"When humans fly!"
It seemed my sarcastic tone got to him and my brother sat up grabbed my scruff and jumped down.
"Hey what are you doing!?"
He brought me into the main room where our two humans fed us. There where about 6 more kittens here but I usually kept to myself.
Brother nudged me over to the bowl where one of the humans where patting the other kittens. I sniffed the brown pellets.
"Eww."
Was all I managed do to say eating the disgusting food. I looked outside the big glass window. Green grass blue sky rocks mountains....freedom. Then I saw three humans walk by. A mother and two of her kits. Our humans said we weren't up for adoption because we "might" be sick. That's right we might not. I turned and headed for the kitchen when I heard the door slide open. It wasn't our humans but the three that just walked past us followed by a worker. I turned to my human they must know what's happening! Instead they stood there calmly with a smile.
"These are all the cats and kittens who haven't been up for adoption yet because they might have a small cold so we need to look after them..."
The worker spoke once more.
"But I suppose you could take some if you wanted to.."
The humans kits looked ecstatic jumping up and down begging there mother to look around. The mother nodded and the kits started looking around. I may as well take a look. I walked up to them the eldest kit sitting there while the younger patting my brother and some other kittens. I turned to the eldest.
"Hi."
I mowed hesitantly. The eldest turned to me happily she looked kind. She looks nice. Then she said.
"Hi!"
Like she could here me then she carried on.
"You can call me Em if you like what's your name?"
A name I don't know I've never had a name.i stared up her in confusion. Then she bounced up.
"Sorry I forgot you can't speak!"
The mother walked over to us.
"He's a cutesy Em let's take him and one other home."
Ems smile grew even bigger than she turned to her sister.
"Maddy we can take this little guy and one other home!"
The first kitten the youngest looked at was brother.
"Looks like where leaving this dump!"
Brother nudged me happily.
"Let's go!"
