Episode 5: Love Strikes! Doubles, Yikes?

Time passed. It was near Halloween or more well known at Duel Monsters Spirit Day. Silver, Kaoru, and gang passed through the school year. The school used a system called Duel Points. Duel Points could be traded for card packs and other interesting boosts. There were a few ways to earn Duel Points. Dueling other students outside of class, participating in tournaments, helping outsider duelists, and clearing the infamous Virtual World.

Duelists could come together in groups and duel other groups. Difficulty levels vary from easy Slifer all the way to the hardest level of graduating Obelisk. Organizers could choose what type, field, and other restrictions for decks.
In the Virtual World, duelists can have a monster partner called a Deck Master. The Deck Master can help their partner find the "Main Quest Target". Using Spells and Traps requires some Spell Points. Monster summoning required Monster Points. The amount was based on levels/ranks and the restrictions. The points can be restored by completing NPC side Quests, depending on the difficulty of the quests. When participants clear the World, they'll receive awards based on how each one dueled.

Anyways, Silver and her crew were hanging around at break time. Her group consisted of River, Aria, Cameron, Will, and Allison. Kaoru's group had Zane, Aster, Adrian, and Ryan. Ryan decided to stay as far away from his brother and hang out with those older and stronger than him.

"Did you hear about the doubles tournament coming up on Duel Monsters Spirit Day?" Allison asked.
"I did and Cameron and I are teamed up." Aria said. "Heard 1st prize is 2000 DP, 1000DP per partner."
"More like she signed us up together." Cameron lamented. Secretly, he was happy about that.
"I'm going with Allison." Will said.
River looked over at Silver. "Are you participating Silver?"
"Maybe if I had a good partner. You?"
"I was thinking of going with Ryan, but he bailed out." River lamented.
"Who's Adrian, Kaoru, Zane, and Aster teaming with?" Aria asked.
Exodic popped out. "(I heard from Red Eyes, who heard from Kaoru, who saw Ryan ask Adrian to team up.)"
"My brother's teaming with Adrian, a Ra level?! Is that allowed?" River exclaimed.
"Apparently." Silver replied, munching on some grapes. "As long as the team can work together and one of the teammates doesn't do all the work, then you can pair up with any level student."
Exodic piped in. "(I also heard from Red Eyes that Kaoru can't decide between Zane and Aster.)"
"No wonder. I heard that both of them are great duelists." Silver commented. "At the rate they're going, they might have to duel each other." Everyone agreed with her and went back to what they were eating.

'(Time to get this off my chest)' River tapped his chin and sighed. "Hey Silver?"
"Yeah?" She questioned, taking a bite out of a shrimp and cheese sandwich.
"Wanna team up with me?" He asked shyly.
"Before I make an opinion, out of curiosity, what type of deck do you use?" She asked.
River realized this would help understand the compatibility of 2 different deck types. "Dragon Warriors."
Silver looked interested. "Sounds helpful for my dragon deck."
"(As long as you add warrior support cards, then yes.)" Exodic suggested.
Silver nodded and turned to River. "Good point and yes, I'll team with you."
'(Yes! *internal cheering*)' River sighed. "Thanks. I won't hold you back."
"And I you." They gave a light fist-bump. They went back to eating lunch.

(Timeskip to after school...)

"So what are you going to do now?" River asked.
"I'm heading to the club room to sort my deck." Silver said.
(Silver and Kaoru's crew decided to make the abandoned classroom(from Ep. 4) their club base. They called themselves "Constellations of the Dark", since most of the members use some form of the Constellation and Dark attribute decks. Anyways, moving on!)
"Mind if I come?" River asked.
"I guess." Silver replied.

They headed to the classroom. No one was there.
"Shall we get started?" River asked.
Silver nodded and they pulled out their decks. They laid their cards out and started sorting and fixing their decks. They talked about things from the day and got to know each other even more.
Silver's specialty of making stories came in handy. River was highly interested in Silver's stories. He wanted to one day make a book with her story duels. He had already started taking notes on her stories.

Anyways, by about 5:00 PM, both River and Silver finished updating their decks. They stood up.
"Time to head home?" River asked.
"Yep." Silver replied. They put their decks away, put on their packs, and headed off.
"I'll walk you." River suggested.
"That'll be nice. Thank you." Silver said. She took his hand. He blushed, but let it slide. They headed off to Silver's home.

Title's based off of Pokemon XY&Z Episode "Love Strikes! Eevee, Yikes!"...Couldn't think of any interesting titles.
Next episode's the tourney. Any title interest are nice.
