The slate-haired boy woke up, his eyes fluttering in an instant. He felt the presence of warm tears rolling down the sides of his face, and his breathing was quick. He was panicking; he didn't know why until some fragments of his dream came to his mind. He recalled the important events that happened, and now he realized the reason behind the tears he was unconsciously shedding in his sleep.
Upon recalling every necessary detail about his dream, he also remembered encountering a tall man with smooth raven locks that matched his cream white skin perfectly, those piercing, slightly vermillion-colored orbs that suited his personality well. He remembered being touched delicately by the man. He remembered almost everything about him -- including his sorrowful demise.
Ciel felt a sudden burst of colorful, yet disheartening emotions upon recalling his beautiful, rare name. He wanted to hear those words come out from his mouth perfectly, to convince himself that the man he dreamt about was someone who he can love perfectly. Sadly, he wasn't sure if he really existed in this world.
"Se...Sebastian...M-Michaelis..."
Then strangely, he felt something inside his system. As if someone called out his name too, just like he mentioned the man's name. It surely wasn't someone downstairs like his red-haired aunt or servants. It was someone far away, but he can feel a weird, yet pleasing connection between them.
He sat on his bed for minutes, wondering how he can shove away the thoughts and emotions brought by the dream he had and live a normal life. It was quite frustrating for him, considering he wanted to be free of the confusions going around his mind but the dream kept bothering him.
Then he finally decided. He would walk around the neighborhood while listening to songs he loved, clearing his mind in the process.
Ciel stood up to fix himself and got ready to walk outside. He grabbed his phone and earphones before going downstairs, only to be met with his aunt.
"Ciel! Where are you going?" The red-haired woman asks the boy as she catches him trying to get out of the manor without anyone noticing.
"I'm just going to walk outside, Aunt An."
"You never liked to walk. Have you eaten something that changed your opinion about walking outdoors?" Angelina says, chuckling.
"No, I'm just in the mood for it." And with that, he went out of the manor, meeting a good weather which resulted to many individuals going outside to do whatever they want.
He started playing music on his phone with his earphones on, the melody of the song helping him calm down a little from the dream he had. He walked away from the manor and passed through different, familiar houses he sees every weekday. He got far enough from his home to encounter shops of different kinds.
Upon seeing a shop called 'Queen Victoria's Tea and Cake Shop', he suddenly remembered the anime he (in his dream) was a part of. Black Butler, if he could remember correctly. That made him slightly uneasy since it reminded him of that man again. But even though it felt uncomfortable for him, he went in the store to order some cake.
Ciel got in the line of people ordering their preferences, waiting patiently for his turn. When he got his order, he sat on one of the unoccupied chairs and waited for another minutes for his order. He grabbed his phone and used it to pass time.
After minutes of ignoring what was going around him, he sensed someone's eyes watching him. He questioned himself, "Is it because of my eyepatch? Or someone's really just intrigued by me?" He let go of his phone and immediately locked his eyes with a red-eyed man.
The tall man was familiar. No, Ciel knew him perfectly. He knew it was Sebastian he was facing.
The tension between them rose as those deep blue and deadly red eyes gazed at each other, as if they were searching through each other's bearer's souls, finding their deepest secrets. The both of them were stunned by the unexpected appearance of the other; they both didn't know that their lover in that strange dream truly existed.
The raven-haired man stood up from his seat and walked towards the boy, who was still shocked by the man's existence. He sat down on the opposite side of the boy, facing him with the presence of a small smirk on his lips.
"Ciel Phantomhive, right?" He asks, resting his cheek on his palm.
Ciel nodded as a response to the man's question.
"I'm assuming that you also had a dream about us falling in love...but it ended tragically," Sebastian, with small hesitation, said.
"Yeah...and I'm thinking you had it too, right?"
Sebastian smiles at the boy and nods. Then an atmosphere filled with awkwardness began rising. It's a good thing the waitress served the Chocolate Gateau cake of the boy before it could even get worse.
Ciel began eating the cake quietly, noticing that the man in front of him was watching him intently. He was too embarrassed to say anything, but he didn't think it was creepy at all.
"You look adorable, Ciel. It's just like in the dream." Sebastian begins another conversation, a gentle smile forming in his lips.
The boy looks up and sees the stunning sight of the ravenette's tender expression. His thoughts were disorganized to even say a proper sentence.
"I...uhm...yeah, sure. Thanks, I guess." He smiles sheepishly, which was an adorable sight for Sebastian. He chuckles, making the boy blush lightly.
"There's no need to be shy. I think we already know each other because of the dream. We...could just start a new relationship...that's very different from our imagination." Sebastian says, deep down inside he wanted to say the opposite.
He, in the deepest caverns of his heart, still harbored the same emotions for the boy, even if he thought it only existed in the dream. But he knew the situation is shocking, especially for a boy possessing a fragile heart like Ciel. He didn't want to push him to love him back. Maybe he was now afraid that the same things will happen in reality.
"Sure...we can be normal friends, right?" Ciel questions, hoping the man would say yes.
"I'd love to."
But what Sebastian would really love to happen is that they'll become the lovers they wanted to be in that beautiful, yet cruel dream.
