Prologue
And they kissed effortlessly like they had no pains and no worries, like for one second in time the world would stop just for them, because in that moment they were infinite.
I breathed out a laugh at what I had just begun to type and erased the sentence that I had just written. It was a figment of my imagination that I'd come up with, but it just didn't seem quite realistic enough for my liking. Fooling myself with notions of love was really not my style.Usually, my friends would’ve been here partying and I’d be on the sidelines waiting for them to get drunk and wasted, but tonight they were all busy and I was here alone with my laptop.
This was my dad’s bar so I wouldn’t be allowed to get drunk anyway. He never got drunk either; he was professional in that way.
After a while of sitting on the balcony looking over the city lights aimlessly and without much inspiration, I snapped my laptop shut and decided it’d be better if I just go home for the night, nothing was going to happen tonight.
I pursed my lips as I realized that I'd have to find my way through the myriad of people at the bar named Arrow. I'd only come here because I couldn't stand being alone at home and came with my dad to Arrow to just sit and write on the balcony for a while; the view was a better place to write after all.
Dismissing any reason to say I put away my laptop into my bag and slung it over my shoulders, I then began to turn around and head back in. The first thing that hit me as I walked in was the smell of alcohol with filled the room. When I had come here the first time, the smell bothered me a lot and I always demanded to go home early, but over the years I’ve gotten use to the stench in all its glory.
I made my way through the crowded room where bodies were up against each other and alcohol was spilling on the tiled floors. I felt sorry for the janitor who just applied for the job a few weeks back.At least this time, I wasn't stopped by drunken guys who were willing to do anything with any girl they saw that held interest to their untamed minds; they were the most disgusting encounters.
Literally having to shove my way through the partying crowd, I pushed my way towards the opposite wall. Some people just needed to know when to stop drinking or somehow learn respect when drinking not that I really believed it was possible. Finally, I had reached the opposite side of the room and I proceeded to make my way downstairs, looking for my dad. I always told him when I was leaving so he wouldn't worry because, I mean we were in a bar and we knows what could happen with drunken people were around. My dad might’ve tried to keep it peaceful, but there’s only so much someone can tame.
I looked around the bottom floor where the atmosphere wasn't any prettier than the one on the second floor. I barged my way through people knowing it was rude, but they'd all forget it in the morning, so no matter. They probably wouldn’t even remember having been at the bar.
After a while, I became tired of just walking around the place and not having any luck finding my dad anywhere, so I found a sturdy table and I hopped on top of it to get a better view of my surroundings.
My dad had started Arrow before I even came into creation, so this place meant quite a lot to him. The bar branched out to the outskirts of town and he even established some in neighboring towns so it was safe to say it was a pretty successful business and he had the money rolling in.
Eventually, I saw my dad's head over all the dancing and drinking people and sighed because I once again had to push my way through them all.
Gosh, I hated this place sometimes yet ironically, I loved to write here.
There was chatter and pointless words being thrown around and a whole lot of mumbling and groaning coming from the people I passed. All probably trying to do something fun tonight, but with their state I doubted they’d get much done. Eventually, I reached where my dad was where there was a boy he who was talking to him.
